Faction conflict is boring, dumb, and stupid. Literally any other plot point would make a better expansion.
Garrosh 3.0 is not going to be better just because he’s a human this time. But, the devs seem to love this plot point so I’m sure you’re correct.
I mean, he had his youth stolen long enough ago that I don’t think it’s really “stolen” any more, so much as “temporarily misplaced”.
faction is ok as a subplot like in legion where tensions were high cause of misunderstandings.
Either way, he didn’t get to enjoy a good chunk of it since the curse wearing off has canceled out with his natural aging. Would be nice to see him get those missing years back.
Nah, he didn’t get to enjoy them because he was stuck on a broken planet with a bunch of orcs and windchimes for company. But now that he’s back, he’s cool as a cucumber.
Outright War though, cannot be told through Warcraft. It’s a T rated game with very soft edges. You’re not going to see things like realistic racial and cultural tensions, the reality of war, the fate of soldiers, etc, which are all necessary to tell a good war story.
The most brutal WoW has ever been was Wrath, and they never came close to approaching that again. You cannot tell good war stories in noble bright settings.
“Better”
We’ve been doing War in every expansion.
Vanilla: The bugs, The Black Dragonflight, The Zandalari that sold themselves out to Hakkar.
TBC: Legion and Illidan’s dark crusade.
Wrath: Scourge
Cata: Black Dragonflight and it’s death cult
MoP: Bugs, Evil spirits, low quality lo-mein
WoD: The Iron Horde and the Legion
Legion: Ummm some evil fel army that everyone was afraid of for years… yeah we kicked that *** too.
BFA: A bunch of cultists and their evil leaders
Shadowlands: Some guy that wanted to rewrite the order of things because he was a toddler with godlike powers… yeah we kicked that *** also.
Dragonflight: Another death cult that wants to eat all our chicken… No one touches my chicken, and someone is gonna pay for my chicken.
as long as I get to kill him as a boss in the siege of Stormwind,
why was this zealous psychopath selected to rule as Anduin’s regent again?
Turalyon is the wrong character for that, sorry.
It’s crazy how bad WoW has gotten at storytelling.
It was never A+, but it was enjoyable back in Vanilla - Wrath, at least. Maybe even Cata. Each zone had nuance, there were lots of subplots, as well as flavor text and whatnot that helped flesh out the world in an enjoyable way.
The way it stands now, we’re just seeing a top-down view of the universe with very little flavor.
Oh, right, this is about the faction conflict. I don’t think the faction conflict is a bad thing. There are factions of each side that will never forgive one another. You can have soft wars going while an overarching peace is achieved. We need nuance.
This could honestly apply to so many many people in WoW’s universe…
The Turalyon story arch should be about him not giving up the throne to someone tainted by the darkness and go God Emperor of Mankind on the other races.
The conflict should be Light vs Void…with the heroes leading a rebellion against the growing Empire of the Light.
Do a major graphic overhaul of old zones under empire control… Make it very Warhammer 40k meets Spanish Inquisition as Turalyon attempts to root out the heretic, mutant and xeno. Allow lesser races only to exist as servants under his reign.
Where Light is totalitarian and allows for no deviance from order; “let me see your papers citizen”… make the void manipulative and opportunistic. They are “helping” the rebellion only to exert their own dark control which slowely reveals itself and the heroes find themselves caught between the rival powers.
Initially players could “help” the growing empire as it roots out the darkness of the void; they could be agents of the void; or a neutral faction fighting in between… final raids/dungeons would be the realization that evil lies at the totalitarianism of either end of the spectrum… and only free will should rule azeroth.
You will see, although her followers defend stormwind, they will be the next villains, including Alleria, who if her sister did not die in Sanctum of Dominations, then she will be in the next future raid called.
THE SIEGE OF STORMWIND.
It is time that this farce of peace ends, we are in the World of Warcraft, the name says it all, it is not wokecraft and no Hello Kitty Island adventure game Snowflakes .
No, no, you got it all wrong! Turalyon is supposed to be the one to make sure the Alliance chooses the side of the Light in the upcoming Light versus Shadow war… or else.
Horde will have to get someone from their team to welcome our future Light-wielding overlords.
ole dude is gonna start a holy war knowing his wife literally eats naaru. Alleria would destroy him.
Here’s the problem, the Alliance will never have a Garrosh, because if they ever go down the war path it’ll be completely justified because the Horde is evil.
Won’t lie, I hope we kind of go the Smash Bros. Ultimate route and fight against both Light and Darkness, carve our own path!
Yep put the light and void in their place. They have been the most manipulative and arrogant with mortals. Show them they are two of six akd we don’t need either
Azshara has already waged war on the void. It’s where she went after we freed her from nyalotha.
I guess that means the end boss would be Turalyon?
He’d be the ilgynoth before N’zoth but light. So him and whatever leads the light
