Please make Full Moon competitive with Fury of Elune

Full moon is not competitive talent if you compare it to Fury of Elune. The best possible Talent build that does the most single target damage with Full Moon lags significantly behind talent build that does the most damage with Fury of Elune. I and many other players love Full moon and want to play with it, so please whoever responsible for druid balance tuning, make it possible for us.

I’ve been on this mentality since full moon’s inception back in Legion. The mechanic of casting 2 single target spells before having a long cast for full moon never sat well with players. Forget trying to use it in arenas. The hero talents could have made it competitive by reducing cast times, or something. Full moon will never be taken for pvp. Mobility in this game is King. No one can just stop and cast something for that long with out mechanics in pve making them move, or players on top of them kicking and stunning. One might argue that mages and locks have long cast times, yet they have fears, roots and snares that allow them to kite to be able to do so.

Now, if… maybe…. We had MoP force of nature…. That rooted and treants that cast wrath on a 30 second CD with 3 charges…. Maybe we could root players like mages and cast full moon…. Just an idea…

I would love the moon spells to deal more damage. I really enjoy dropping Full Moon on packs of mobs, but it’s easier and more effective these days to hit Fury of Elune.

But then I’d have more buttons to press :frowning:

Im not even asking for it to be best choice out of two, or be reworked, simply make it playable instead of dead talent. Why is it listed as an alternative in Elian’s chosen at all if dps diff with fury of elune is around 10-5% and there is so much going for fury of Elune already, being instant and generating so much astral power which lets you being so much more mobile compared to if you play full moon

I guess you missed it in shadowlands when you could drop 3 full moons on someone in a global cooldown and they didn’t get to react they just died.

It’s a burst button. What do you mean “competitive”?

I’m not familiar with the sims, but I would love to see it.

Dropping two moons on trash packs with a tank pulling around it (one minute double pulls) is incredible wave clear, and lines up with several other class cooldowns like Bladestorm. I am honestly in awe if coordinated groups wouldn’t prefer it… I think Full Moon being the go-to for trash packs, with FoE being the go to for Single Target sims is a completely reasonable expectation, but there’s always a question of “what’s the appropriate margin?”

Blizzard balance teams are notoriously bad at actual balance though, so don’t think I’m in complete disbelief. That is, they rarely buffing underperformers meaningfully enough to make a real difference in build diversity instead of just doubling down on their favorite builds (“just follow the fotm guide”).

Roots? Roots?

It’s definitely harder since there’s less free casts and Balance defensives are worse.

But you definitely have Roots. And Mushroom snares. And Cyclones. To me, the problem is Balance Druid has no real way to force a target swap. I haven’t PvPed in a long time though because I would rather enjoy the game (above line re: balance teams).

If you’re referring to convoke and RNG in S1 shadowlands then sure. But we are talking about the spell you take with a talent choice. What’s better? A 45 second CD instant beam of damage? Or 3 casted spells with the last cast being substantially long? We also have to take into consideration all aspects of the game. No one takes it in pvp. It’s a waste and 80-90% of the time will be kicked, just like convoke. There should be a way to gain a faster cast of Full moon for both pve and pvp for it to be viable.

i’m not even sure if it were instant cast it would be taken over fury

  • More durability
  • LESS AP Generation!!!
  • There should be a choice between Fury/Moon builder and Spender.
  • Full Moon Spender - Solitary cast. COSTS 100 AP. HUGE NUKE :full_moon: :boom:
1 / 1.5 min CD, but resets through Incarnation and gains a guaranteed crit.

Am I the only one that finds that spell stupid? Lol. I mean don’t get me wrong, dropping a whole a** moon on someone is gangster.

But whose moon? Where did it come from? Is it Elune we are throwing at them? Is it a moon of another planet?

I just don’t get it conceptually. They could do the exact same skill charge idea and damage and call it like, meteor fragment, comet, cataclysmic meteor or something, and I’d find it less confusing haha

I just imagine the moon is a coalescence of arcane magic. I quite love the spell. Ever since Legion.
