As a 25H guild that went to 10H for cata now that loot is the same ilvl and to remain a group of tight knit friends, it’s really discouraging to see 25 man get 7 pieces while 10 gets 2. On an accelerated patch cadence schedule it just seems ridiculous. Should really be 3 to keep up with 25 man.
Sorry brother Deathofsho… As a rogue, I disagree. I need folks to be incentivized to run 25m. I personally think that 25 man needs 8 drops.
Pour out a drop for the raid leadership and two extras for my homies!

The incentive is they are significantly easier and dont require convoluted comps to even be functional.By trying to squeeze 3 tanks or 3 healers mandatory for some fights with 10 people. 10m should be equal in loot each boss should have a minimum of a chance to drop a third piece.
Isn’t that a good thing? Why should 10 man be equally rewarding or more rewarding than 25 man?
Maybe just remove 10 man raiding.

25 man takes more time and commitment than 10 man. Far “easier” to get the same 10 people than 25. I don’t think it needs buffing or anything at least not for now…
because we are in 4.1, the 10 mans are nerfed already, slightly
#1 that’s the entire point of making 10/25 share the same item level.
#2 giving 3 wouldn’t make it more rewarding
I don’t think there’s any question 25s require more effort from Raid Leadership to manage a bigger group.
But that “difficulty” is not really true for most of the people just showing up to raid.

Depends on the group, the mindset and what are the goals. Each guild is a different world… 25 mans can be a bit in the “air” and it’s totally far less flexible than 10… specially if you dont want to pug at all or too much…
If you think 25 mans are harder than 10mans in cataclysm you havnt raided both.

A lot of this discussion overall is opinion, but I’m curious about that part of your statement.
The common wisdom (and also my own opinion) is that 10s are “less flexible.”
Filling out a comp with buffs is trickier, it’s harder to hide/carry underperformers, and loot itself is also trickier to balance as especially certain items are more likely to go directly to OS, token split, etc.
i have raided and cleared both, 10 man in my experience was just default easier, except maybe sinestra, 10 mans don’t have the massive raid damage that requires raid cds or u get 1 shot, the wrack mechanic in 10 man seemed unforgiving but everything else didn’t
Isnt it simple? the same 10 players… every week, the same day and the same server time. 25 players every week, the same day and the same server time…
Lets say that the 10 man group has 1 or 2 people having real life things that can’t be skipped or delayed. The leader can somewhat sort it out rather quickly without having to rely on pugs…
On the 25 man group there can be situations where more than 3+ people have different things going on in their life and as leader you have to improvise the best you can to keep the raid flowing on the guild…
Having the same 25 people every week depending on each person life can be tricky and leads to different changes in the core of the group… which puts the lead to the test to decide if to pug or go with less people and maybe kill less bosses or not… (depending again on the mindset and goals)
