Please let all characters learn appearances of any armor type in MoP

I feel that this would help breathe life into older content, and would be a major quality of life change. Currently, it feels bad farming xmogs on a character of each armor type, knowing that in the (far) future, it will be at least 4x easier when you can collect everything on the character of your choice. It’s also handy when crafting BoP profession gear.

While I partially agree with this, I also largely don’t. Not being able to learn certain mogs is all that keeps a surprisingly large number of people from ninjaing gear. Hell if they open it up like you’re saying I’ll be rolling cloth as plate so my warlock can have fresh duds.

That cool bow dropped? Lemme snag that from the hunter on my mage. You don’t see just how bad this could become?

Couldn’t be me grinding Zul’Farrak on my shaman for cloth the other day in order to prep my Monk’s professions, and Jang’thraze and Sang’thraze BOTH dropped in one run

I mean, all they have to do in that case is implement the restriction on being able to need on gear that isn’t for your spec that was supposed to have already been in place now

Dont forget my vendor spec.

But they should just unlock the appearance for everyone once it drops and is being rolled for. That way folks dont have to need on it. Think about the quest items and how they allowed those to work.

Oh I’ve certainly been there before! I still need the epic sword from ST and it dropped while I wasn’t on a sword user :expressionless:

Honestly, I know this is heresy, but I wish collections were linked between Classic and Retail (Excluding things that have yet to come out for Classic). I did my time farming old raids for appearances/mounts once already. I really don’t want to do it a second time.

Deep down a part of me hopes they will finally cave or need to merge the data due to a critical oversight on their end. I don’t want to go try retail because my collections aren’t there, and I haven’t played retail since Vanilla-Cata.

The only way I think anyone could agree with this is if the item is well below your level. Say, 10 levels.

That way anything current xpac has no ninja issues or dungeon griefers, etc

Is it a perfect compromise? No

Is it a decent one? Yes

Only way I would agree to this is if on rolls Need is for your highest armor type and Greed is for everything else. Mages can only roll need on cloth and a warrior can only roll need on plate. As for weapons, Need is for anything you can equip, greed is for everything else. Mage can not roll need on a 2H sword and a hunter can not roll need on a mace. As long as all transmogs are available across all your toons then your mage can transmog any plate your paladin has obtained.

Doesnt hold warriors back on needing on cloth. Thats what they meant.

As I mentioned earlier, the simple solution is implementing the restriction on being able to Need on gear not relevant to you, which should have already been in place but for some reason isn’t
