If the ilvl is higher, any upgrade is an upgrade.
I guess you got a bad vault? And, agreed. It’s a little complicated because some specs prefer something in M+ and others in raid, and in high M+ people might want to stack vers.
I on the other hand got 3 vault choices that were all absolutely loaded with versatility… my absolute favorite stat!! /s
Pretty much this.
There’s a stat priority but ilvl is usually better to go with
Mastery can be valuable to resto shamans that are pushing cutting edge content while the group is still somewhat undergeared. It’s a niche but it does exist. And that’s not even taking into account that the other stats on the item plus the higher ilvl could make the item an upgrade even if mastery isn’t ideal. The only time an item is “not for” a given class/spec is if the stat is completely useless to them and can’t be used, like agility for elemental/resto. Sure mastery isn’t ideal and is less valuable than the other stats for resto, but “less valuable” doesn’t mean “completely useless”.
Also, most people play more than one spec and mastery is pretty valuable to elemental.
I’m hoping to the loot gods this isn’t my case…I’ve had that stupid waycrest off hand drop several times and tons of versatility rings.
Hoping for trinkets but I get the feeling it’s gonna be a vault of everything except what I’m hunting for…
However they are Enhancement Shaman rings.
I wish you the best of luck!
Thank you. I just feel if my luck follows me from last patch on trinkets I’ll see one bis and never get the other for the whole season xD
Blizzard doesn’t do min/maxing for stats. Players do. Any secondary stat is usable by any spec. What you prefer is entirely different.
Upgrade is an upgrade my man. I do not care if the secondary stats are better for some random dude in my LFR that I will never see again, if it’s better than what I’m wearing, I’m rolling for it.
Thank you, that was the point I tried to make but that’s much better than my long winded explanation.
Please learn what randomly selected item means.
I’m sure he gets it, he’s just mad that he lost the roll. That being said, I cannot imagine that the same dude complaining in the OP passed on upgrades because they weren’t his ideal secondaries and let other people win them either.
I like haste on my resto shaman.
I once rolled need on an intel dagger on my rogue. It had more dmg numbers than mine so I figured I should have it. Ended up winning and everyone disliked that.
