Emerald Dream and Grobbulus enjoyer here. Please just one RPPVP server without layers and balanced pop. RP invests the PVP with greater meaning. Please just one RP-PVP server.
Fellow enjoyers please don’t stop bumping and posting and making requests for this.
I love the Grob mob, but there’s no way more than 2 servers is going to survive.
There is very little hype around this fresh.
I’d like a RP-PvE server … but not with this mono-server setup Blizz announced.
We’d have all those not wanting to queue for the regular server swarming us, ruining the RP scene and then in a few months leaving via transfer, clamouring for free transfer and ruining the PR servers even more. RP Servers need enough normal servers to exist.
Ya’ll are gonna quit the game and kill the server 3 months in
Blizzard killed Chaos Bolt by bungling the SoD launch and then locking Chaos Bolt for being “Too low pop” despite the fact that Chaos Bolt had 2 Layers(Around 6,000 players) most of the time(Any time but 10am on a Wednesday).
The people in charge of Classic have bought into the “Only Megaservers are good” mentality. Some of use like knowing everybody on the server and your reputation mattering.
The RP community got mobbed off the RPPVP server by all the streamers and their communities and Blizz waited too long to open Chaos Bolt and didn’t open up any more PVP Realms.
Chaos Bolt got a lot of overflow PVPers because the normal PVP servers were full as well, those were the people whining it was “too hard to find a group”, what they mean was “I don’t get groups instantly.”
Crusader Strike would have been Grobblus 2.0 if it wasn’t for the Streamers flooding it and fracturing the RP community.
Let’s not forget this either. The Grob-mob was unequivocally the largest, most significant, and oldest WoW community yet it was splintered because Streamers (Esfand was the primary advocate for the streamer’s decision) and caused Crusader Strike to be locked for days (weeks) and overflow went to Chaos Bolt. What a disaster.
The Grobbulus community never recovered.
For those not familiar with Grobbulus, the Grob community was larger than most private servers and the “Grobbulus” RP-PvP realms were always Full, before the streamers sabotaged it.
Launch the RP variants two weeks after the normal and PvP servers launch.
All the true RP heads and RP curious will roll there while the streamers and hype followers (or just non-RP interest folks) go to the primary realms.
No more hype chasing the next Grobbulus because it’s RP, only to remove the designation and call Crusader Strike what it always was — a normal streamer megaserver.
This is a great idea. RP-PVP servers to launch 2 weeks after the mainline ones.
Genius!
And then they will be perma dead for the rest of the time.
I’d like this too but I don’t see it happening.
Blizzard ibungled the RP servers on SoD and they’re blaming the RP community so we get nothing.
I’m starting an RP guild Horde side on the PVP server because of this.
Maybe enough of us will be there that we can do some stuff?
And that streamer responsible for the streamer community realm choice was… Esfand. Never forgive him and always remind him. The oldest, funnest, and most loyal wow community that there was, splintered away because of streamer selfishness. All it took was 1-week of server pop lock and the damage was done. 10+ years of community organization and momentum obliterated in 1 week.
If it was just Esfand it wouldn’t have been a problem.
The RP community could have absorbed him, he actually likes RP.
It was all the other streamers on top of that, especially Asmongold and his 100,000 sycophants that follow him around on games.
It would have made sense if they all decided “we roll on the PVP server that comes first alphabetically” and just gone with that rather than say “ok we roll on the RPPVP server cause we know for certain there’s only going to be one”
That wanted to farm the RP community for content and ended up crushing it out with all the people who followed them.
Asmond was the only streamer who advised everyone to AVOID the RP-PvP realm, publicly on stream. The other major streamers declared they were indifferent. ESFAND was the one who CHOSE the RP-PvP realm, on stream, and the other streamers said “sure”. The realm was locked for a week+ afterwards, forcing many, many of the RP-PvP community to not be able to join their guilds, meetup with their decade old online friends, or even create characters on Crusader Strike. It was ALL on Esfand.
I was watching this closely, as were others in the Grobb community. This is how it went down.
He still agreed to go and his crowd of goons followed him.
He made some content about it with “The Wall” before they officially came to CS when it launched.
This.
Let streamers get settled on the normal servers then announce the rp and rppvp. So we can all get on and make toons before we get locked out on both factions.
I would wait for this
it’d be a good option if anything. I’m just worried we won’t get anything at all ;w;
