Would love to see the nameplate distance increased to 41yd like in TBC/WotLK. No one is going to be using PvP addons like Spy in hardcore, so I don’t see why increasing the nameplate distance wouldn’t be doable.
no game change is needed you play what you get
Yes please. Having nameplates less than spell range is asinine. Just because vanila was 20 because of resource limitations in 2006 is no reason to handicap classic.
They’re fixing other caps like total number of buffs, this would be a no brainer.
Is that what it was? I thought they made a change due to something like that rogue detection addon or something along those lines…
I could be misremembering.
Since its hardcore no one is going to be using addons to find people from the opposite faction for PvP, so if that was the original concern it doesn’t apply anymore.
Duel to the death?
No changes. Actually I think addons that alert you of roaming elites should be banned on hardcore servers as well.
I know right. Enough is enough with these high tech addons. just play the dang game
Amen!
20 yards just isn’t enough.
The viewing distance was reduce during Vanilla Classic to defeat the use of the Spy addon.
If you’re no changes, you should be all for this suggestion.
As a software engineer and game dev, this is bad game design. Nameplates should have 40-50 yards range to be able to be seen and used correctly for range classes.
While im at melee, my wife is a Hunter. Spells have 35-40 yard range but nameplates only visible at 20 yards.
This is a bug. We played hunter-druid in wow classic 2019… and now 4 years later this issue is still not addressed. It was actually limited (those /run SetCVar("nameplateMaxDistance", "6e1")
workarounds)
Someone add this small task into the blizzard backlog for classic/vanilla servers and fix the nameplates distance. +1 if they make it optional in interface configuration… and at least make it avaiable with commands /run SetCVar(“nameplateMaxDistance”, “40”) or something like that as a minimum scope fix.
