Please Improve the Moderation System

would be nice but downvote goes against the woke culture :frowning:

too many babies on these forums.

Easy solution. Block access to those who are the worst abusers.

Yeah, them moderators need to step up their game. Too many yahoos around here wiggling their toes. That’s gotta stop! Ya hear me, moderators?

I don’t take the forums seriously enough to care much about moderation. As far as moderation here goes… it is what it is. It would be great if people could moderate themselves, but as many of us display here daily, bad habits are hard to kick. Some people are just incapable of being better, or at least on the internet they just don’t want to be.

I do agree with a lot of these suggestions, but I am also part of team “Just make it BattleTag and be done with it” as far as people alt hopping. There have only been a few people on here who I actually think do alt hopping for flagging or posting or talking to themselves… but none of them were forum regulars and I only knew they were alt hopping because other people pointed out their collection similarities or something.

Moderators should be dealing with abuse and toxic behaviour. The poster you’re hinting about has never displayed any such behaviour. If we start asking moderators to cater to our own personal dislikes (when an ignore feature exists) it would get pretty empty around here.

Thank you. It was on the old forums and I’ve been suggesting it for a while. Beak yoinked it from the last post critiquing the forum management.

Yeah the only problem with downvotes is that it was routinely used by guilds and other groups to disappear dissenting opinions in threads. Looking at the old forums on archive.org I think maybe the vote number was featured a little too prominently too… maybe make it the same size as the post count or achievement count text.

Like this is going to help . Left this and we’ll be flooded .

If someone is regularly maxing out their flag limit I think they’re probably as much a part of the problem as the trolls.

I’ve done this a few times, usually someone being repeatedly toxic or nasty in the same thread. Usually hot topic threads. I personally only try to use them for the most egregious offenses though… in most cases I like to ignore people to their faces. :man_shrugging:

Imagine unlimited flags plus their alts ,omg the nightmare.

The only reason for the daily flag cap to be removed is because the mods fail to clean up dumpster fire threads in a timely manner so there are often far more than five egregious posts on the forums.

For example, the body 1 / body 2 controversy brought a ton of really nasty behavior.

Need Some Help Understanding TL3 - #39 by Vrakthris

That’s part of the problem around here. Some people think that making a bigger fuss means a better chance they’ll get attention, whether it’s hyperbolic posts or mass flagging. All they wind up doing is confirming that anything said in GD isn’t to be taken seriously.

Clinging hard to something? It’s not as if I recognized it could’ve been something I did in the very first post of the thread

Feel free to try to distract from the subject at hand though. I appreciate the free bumps.

NGL Beak, I had the same initial reaction when I saw you made the original post, but I took a mental step back and made myself read the OP instead of go with my initial knee-jerk.

Like I said, it’s a reasonable request you’ve made here, but yes, you’ve created an impression on the community and it isn’t necessarily a positive one.

I wish more people had the cognizance to do this instead of just assuming every post by X, Y, or Z poster is a troll post. This phenomenon is not exclusive to OP.

Even worse is when people assume and spread lies that say x, y and z are the same person.

All it takes is to make an unsubstantiated claim on these forums, and all of a sudden a mob rises.

Sometimes I feel like the mods have their own UI and they only use that and never actually look at the topic list with their eyes to see which threads are obviously growing rapidly.
