If I type /smile right now nothing happens. Would be cool if our characters had moods that we could set and they stay that way until we change them. Hardest thing would be to implement this…and some races probably wouldn’t be very expressive.
Have you ever used the addon Narcissus to take screenshots of your mogs? You can pick your animations within the addon window and so many of the faces are really expressive! This capability is mostly already in the game, we just need slash commands that would enable us to make parts of these animations happen.

No never tried that but now I want to. Seems to be the case that all they have to do is make a ui for us to use if it already exists. Low hanging fruit if you ask me.
