Hello all.
I missed Warlords and Legion.
I boosted my character to 110 to try and experience BFA now that I’ve resubbed and I just find myself getting so uncomfortable every quest that I am unable to play. It’s not that the content is bad or anything, but I can’t shake some uncomfortable feeling that I missed so much storywise. None of the cinematics or anything felt cool at all because I had no idea what context they’re in.
It’s extremely frustrating, because then I go level a level 1 thinking maybe I’ll be better off that way, then halfway through I get angry and think I’m wasting my time and jump back to the 110 and the cycle repeats all over again.
What should I do? Try to experience Warlords and Legion content even though I missed them and nobody is doing that content anymore? This is driving me nuts

It’s a game, calm yourself. You want to experience the lore? Don’t boost. Sounds like you don’t want to miss anything, so level a character. Experience was increased so leveling is pretty fast. You aren’t missing much at 120 right now anyway, you got plenty of time to catch up.

Well I didn’t miss much story wise but I can’t shake the uncomfortable feeling that the content is bad.

Trust me. You didn’t miss anything.
Don’t worry about lore/story you would forget the next day.
If you truly care about lore, it’s better to read books and watch movies than to play a game especially with boost.

Some of the best times I had in more recent expansions, was playing older content, WoD leveling was fun ONCE and then it was more fun to level alts and raid on the side
Legion, while fun expansion, it was also fun to level alts.
BFA - If you figure out how to have fun in this one, let me know.

Start a DK. You’ll get a jump on leveling stuff you’ve done before and see what you missed. They’re also popular in BfA if that’s a plus.

You can buy warlords of draenor for $5.
You should be able to redeem key for a 90 boost.
Even if I have BFA already?
I don’t know all I know is when i got a bunch of friends into WoW for legion… I bought like 5 copies of warlords of draenor and they redeemed the key for the boost.
You should send a ticket to question blizzard

I like the DK idea a lot. I might do that.
It certainly can’t hurt. If you don’t like the class, you can start something else. If you do, BfA will still be about the same when you get to 110
I skipped draenor and legion was “ah fire monster from skies must kill” so I don’t really see the urgency here to go backwards other than for fun… lore is thrash
WoD is no longer sold.
The 90 boost no longer exists.

Warlords was a throw away lore wise. Nothing done there matters. Legion is where it matters.
Lore TLDR
The Burning Legion returns, Horde and Ally join together to fight it. First fight goes bad both leaders die, Allys blame Horde for losing when Horde abandons them because they were about to get killed but Allys don’t know that part. Bad blood between them from then on.
Sylvanas gets named Warchief by a dieing Vol’Jin, Anduin becomes king.
We basically abandon the factions and join groups based on our classes instead and stop the Leigon that way.
Meanwhile Sylvanas tries to enslave the Goddess of the Valkyr so she can become imortal and always have a way to make undead. Genn comits an act of war to stop her doing that. This increases the tention and puts the factions on the path to war.
Legion is dead, the factions hate each other but no outright war. But Azeroth gets stabbed and her blood called azurite is really powerful.
Sylvanas manipulates Saurfang into attacking the Nelves to secure Kalamdor and the azurite for the horde and hold the world tree hostage to make sure Allys don’t attack. She burns it down instead.
Allys attack Undercity in retaliation, almost get caught in a trap but Jaina saved the day. Undercity is now a poisonous wasteland.
Now we have war. But both sides need ships. Hey look the Zandalari and Kultirans have lots of ships, lets go enlist them in our war. So far BfA is solving their problems so they will join us and let us use their ships
There you go.

I boosted my first toon back in BfA so I could catch up to my friends who pulled me back in.
I’m EXACTLY like you. I last played in MoP and skipped WoD and Legion. I felt the same way and leveled three toons from scratch to get the whole story. Legion. was. Amaze-balls. So go back and level a toon. They’ve nerfed the leveling process beautifully, and it goes MUCH faster. If you don’t have heirlooms, get some.
We missed a LOT. You can buy the WoW novels if you wanna read the story, but leveling through the zones will help a lot. And…it doesn’t take much time at all. Start grinding BfA Pathfinder I on your boosted toon, but roll at least one alt to level through the entire game. It goes very quickly, and you’ll love it.

You could also create a Demon Hunter and get right to Legion. WoD - you missed nothing at all. I thought Legion was the best expansion since Wrath, and if you really want to go back to previous content, go with Legion. Seriously - skip WoD.
Just a note - I found that the DHs though were a lot better around 104-105, and didn’t take off right away (meaning they felt a bit tedious) , but once they do…

Don’t even bother. WOW sucks, will leave when my account balance runs dry. RNG drops are the worst game design ever. Never ending world quest are meaningless. No opportunity to earn PVP gear except by constantly repeated Mythic + runs. Running raids and Mythic is takes the skill level of a robotic automaton with even less imagination.

Roll a demon hunter dude it’s prob one of the only classes that feels good right now. There is always fury warriors but blizzard seems to want them to only be pvp gods.
