Please help me to understand PvP ranking system

I got up to Sergeant no problem. 15 HKS one week, and 4500 honor the second week. Totally understand that part.

However, someone killed the NPC in Ashenvale so now I am Rank2 and 98.43% according to Ranker. So last week, I got about 2k honor from a few BGs, thinking that would be enough to get R3 again. Nope. When I logged in this morning I am still R2 and Ranker is saying I still need 4500 honor.

I would understand if I needed 4500 honor minus what I got last week, but it says I need the full 4500 honor. Is this true? Does this mean that if we don’t get all the honor needed for a rank up in one week, we make 0 progress? What about higher ranks? Will we still need to grind the entire rank in 1 week or we get no progress?

Not complaining, just trying to understand.

As of right now we have to do the full rank in a single week. I haven’t seen any info of the future ranks but I would assume it will be the same at least until rank 7+ when the honor needed would be just to much for a single weeks grind.

PvP rating exist because before that players go feral and kill everything in existence just for fun.

Players, Npc, Gm, everything.

So Devs for contain this bloodthirsty community implemented this repetitive system of [move the flag from A to B] or [Stay here 30 minutes alone in this flag alongside this stable please] and [Lets run around circles 3vs3 and 5vs5] draining the excitement of going around the world killing players.

Fun → Job.

I will always will say this: PvP is not the way to get a reward, PvP IS THE REWARD!

Oh I agree, wPvP is the reason I started playing SoD and it is some of the most fun I have had playing wow in many years. I like having good gear to PvP with though, so I’ll be ranking up and grinding pvp faction rep as much as I can.

Thanks for explanation Cenpi, that makes sense.

Wait you can drop down a rank?

How?

It should be

And your slogan is as silly as: Raiding is not the way to get a reward, raiding IS THE REWARD!

A dishonorable kill. They need to remove civilian DKs.

Literally killing innocent people.

There are NPCs that say “Civilian” where it normally says “PvP” in the mouseover tooltip. Those are dishonorable kills and will down rank you. Even if someone else on your party/raid kills them and not you. Usually quest givers etc so you don’t stop the enemy faction from progressing.

Do this blizz. I want to show these whiners why DKs exist :smiling_imp:

Some civilians need to be removed for sure. Towns and cities are fine, but they should not be randomly placed in world PvP zones. Like the night elf right next to the Horde flight path at Zoram’gar. That’s just stupidity.

correct. if you are going from rank 2 to rank 3 you need 4500. this will apply to higher ranks as phases go on. The upside to this is rank will never decay from being idle so as long as you avoid dhk’s you will keep your rank.

Remove them as in make them invulnerable.

Yet the quest giver at Highperch – the escort quest – is completely unkillable as Alliance. You can’t kill him before the quest. So they have the capability to make these NPCs unkillable (there are others too), yet they leave this stupid Dishonorable Kill system in place. It is asinine.

I’m 98% sure that’s the one that got me. I usually try to go west and help summon people etc. Just one more reason going west as horde sucks. Won’t be doing that anymore.

That NPC is so stupid.

if you farm out 500k honor through out the whole week, and on day 6 you kill a civi, All of your honor is useless, as you are deranked to the previous rank.

they need to remove dishonorable kills from the game entirely .

if you dont want people to kill a questgiver or any npc , make them have the same tag as a child npc and be immune to everything.

this hand holding bullcrap needs to go .
