Hi,
I would like to level another dps class and I was thinking about shadow priest or balance druid. I have tried both and they look fun.
Please could you help me by recomending which class is more fun?
Fun to me is:
I dont care about numbers but I do care alot of playability. I am considering as well the potential changes that classes may have when Shadow lands goes live.
Mobility goes to Balance
Mogs would be Shadow but like ones a void other is a boom chicken or astral blue thing.
Engaging rotation: tough one. I’d say Balance because Shadow priest generally needs a good composition and a group that does chain pulls.
Better looking; I play Guardian so o have a soft spot for Druid spells here. Better to get unbiased opinion.
Utility; Balance no question. Roots, treants, Cyclone. It’s utility out the wazoo.
I’d say Balance, has better mobility a good rotation great utility. And if you decide you don’t want to play balance you have feral,guardian and reso. Where as shadow priests only have disc and holy both healing classes.

Go balance. I’m not bias because I definitely don’t main a balance Druid. Go balance.

Balance druid is uber mobile fun to play and super survivability.
Its really fun in BG’s too. Actually was almost funny playing it in BGs a bit ago.

I’m trying to level a shadow priest and am getting flustered, honestly.
I like balance druid for QoL. You can grab stuff in flight form. Dotting everything as a shadow priest is less fun.
Balance Druid. Priest anything belongs in a garbage can.
Balance sadly, I wish priests were satisfying to play but they aren’t. I don’t care for numbers they’re just a miserable experience in both solo play and group play.
There really is the only important factor throughout all of wow. You can either moonkin dance, or you can wish you could moonkin dance.
Balance.
Shadow Priest is incredibly easy and dull rotation… but it’s not that great atm. Balance you will have more fun and pump more.
I quit my shadow priest. I personally found the rotation a bit boring and I hate the dark shadow. You can’t even see your mog at all, just a dark purple swirling shadow with a deeper dark purple shadow inside… Plus I wasn’t fond of how it played.
On the other hand, I totally love my Balance Druid. I love the shapeshifting, I can stealth which can be Very handy sometimes. Glyph of stars and you sparkle. Glyph of Cheetah and you are a lovely kitty. lol You have a ton of options, and the rotation is fun for me.
Is shadow priest so bad that is not even worth considering?

For every criteria you listed balance wins hands down.
Yes that is exactly what I was saying. Unless you are going heals, priest is trash.
Do you think shadowlands will bring some fun to shadow?
Do you have a crystal ball? If not you know as much as anyone else. The spec is in dire need of a redesign,
Pretty clear cut here, shadow sucks and always has, why bother when you can boom chicken?

I have both and I have to say my druid is much more productive than my shadow priest. I will be honest I don’t full understand half of my priest’s abilities any more. Insanity meters and such I just don’t get.
Balance druids are much more straightforward.
