Please!! consider addressing 10m raid loot scarcity -
TLDR - Consider implementing a simple change - such as a universal tier token off an end boss (like we had from Al’akir)
All through Cata 10H raiding we’ve felt the pain of being far behind in raid ilvl due to bad loot (particularly Tier token) rng etc. however this has been exemplified with a string of poor Dragonsoul luck causing our raid ilvl to remain at barely 400 after weeks upon weeks of clearing heroic bosses.
It is EXTREMELY unfun to progress for multiple nights on a boss, only to have the loot that drops be ENTIRELY unusable for the entire 10m raid, sometimes including offspecs. This is a common occurence in 10man raiding.
There needs to be some bad-luck protection to help 10m get gear at an even remotely similar rate to 25man players.
I’m not asking for more loot, just less chance of ALL loot being completely wasted and unusable. Int plate with no Hpal, Agi mail with no hunter etc etc.
Even running a very balanced raid comp, this still happens WAY too frequently in 10man
Already 10m gets overall less loot (due to the 6 items divided between 25 vs the 2 items divided between 10) but i believe that an enormous amount more loot goes to waste in 10m than 25.
Some ideas to help you out:
1- The last boss of a certain raid could drop a universal tier token, tradeable to a vendor - think Al’akir or Retail end bosses - Al’akir was a fantastic way to patch up holes in our raid loot, complete set bonuses and reverse bad RNG during Phase 1 cata.
2 - All Heroic bosses could drop a currency that, once stacked to 10, 20, 30 (whatever pick a number) would let you purchase some item of heroic loot from a vendor. Tier, vs certain weapons, trinkets, items etc. whatever you decide is fair. It would provide some bad luck protection if certain items are never even seen off a boss (again extremely common in a 10man raid with 2 bits of loot dropping)
Either system can and should be applied to 25man also.
Thank you for your consideration
