Please give Void elves & Nightborne More Classes in 9.2

And now there are… so this whole paragraph is moot, you’re literally trying to stomp on people who DO like Void Elves for being VOID.

Because they aren’t Void Elves? That’s what makes a Void Elf a Void Elf, take out the Void and you just have… Elf.

This I could agree with due to the Emerald Nightmare and the corruption of the dream. They’d be like, I don’t know, vampiric Druids, but we have Druids of the Flame so this idea isn’t too far fetched. (Even entities of the Dream like Ysera have stated the Emerald Nightmare is now permanent and a dark new aspect of the Emerald Dream)

This could also work, Umbric has shown he’s not above some “questionable” means…

If I was trying to stomp on people supporting Void elves I wouldn’t suggest void-themed paladins. Keyboardturner has made an amazing concept of Riftblade for Void elves which is based on the paladin class, but is of a voidy concept.

The reality is that High elves and Void elves now exist as one, and so must the two communities. I have stated in other threads before, including the big Void elf customization thread for the void concept, that I support a LOT of Void-themed customization for Void elves. Just because I and some others think paladins or dark paladins are viable doesn’t mean we are High elf zealots. I just think they can be made to work.

If it was up to me to decide I’d suggest Druid and Shaman for Void elves rather than DH and paladin. But I KNOW that many people are into DH and paladin as well so I don’t want to be stepping over their toes. I think void elf druids could work because they could learn under locus walker and use the enslaved void lords to harness the power of the void and transform into beings of pure void energy. They can also strike a deal with the emerald dream druids to protect them from the creatures of the nightmare.

Enslave some elementals and force them to grant you their blessing and voila you are a Dark shaman, the end xD.

What if Blizzard adds paladins as an order of void wielding Riftblades who found ways to do more than just warrior abilities and the best way to represent that is just a reskinned paladin with void colored abilities?

What if a group of Shadow Priests among the Void Elves take up wearing plate and wielding large hefty swords?

I mean, I just don’t think we could label them “Paladins”, Void Knights maybe, but I just don’t think the Void could be used to the same capacity for a Paladin as the Light is. Paladins are called to: “Encourage, heal, and protect the people.” Encourage? Well no, Void’s whole stick is sheer Lovecraftian horror… Heal? The Void doesn’t really “heal” so much as mutates and scars sort of like Fel. Protection it could do as shields are a common capability it seems to most cosmic forces. I just don’t really consider them “Paladins” for this reason. I think it’d be best to introduce the VE equivalent as a new class, or in the very least a new spec like Shadow to regular Priests as a DPS spec.

I don’t mind if they give nightborne and velf more classes. I will mind if they only give nightborne and velf more classes lol. Kind of getting old that only a select few crowds are being heard, and honestly that pertains to multiple facets of wow.

And Sunwalkers and Prelates are not exactly the same as paladins in either case. The only thing that really makes those two like Silver Hand Paladins or Blood Knights or even Vindicators is the use of the Light.

The name isn’t important. From Blizzards perspective it’d just be easier to make “Void Knights” as the paladin class if they’re going to.

Paladins sure, but we’re not talking about the same tenants. Thats another conversation effectively.

As far as can the Void heal? Yeah sure it can. Shadow Priest and Discipline Priest use it to do so. While there is a caveat in that case unless you talent as a SP, its still there.

The Void corrupts because thats its nature. But Void Elves do not possess that nature. Their use of the power doesn’t need to do so. Healing as a whole could easily be justified simply by their control over the Void, a control that no creatures has so far before them possessed.

I concur, and don’t see that as an issue as you say.

Blizzard isn’t very willing to add new classes. If they’re considering it, and according to Ion they are, their most likely path is the Paladin with a palette swap. (Though even that is giving some credit I’m not sure is due to Blizzard skin wise.)

I think, personally, that its more likely that if Paladin is added to the roster of the Void Elves it will be with a void skin to adhere to the lore and they’ll expand our control over the void to allow us the use of it.

I think it’d be reasonable to imagine that void-themed paladins could potentially use both Void AND Light abilities, akin to Disc priests. If they are devoted paladins but wish to protect Azeroth by gaining additional power via the usage of Void energy at the side of their fellow Void elves they could choose to do so as long as they didn’t use too much of that Void power. So for us players this could translate to paladins with some recoloured abilities like purple Concecration, some purple highlights in their Divine Storm, a dark indigo Divine Shield, etc.

I mean there’s as much proof against as for this concept.

Blizzard hasn’t really weighted in on the whole “can void elves actually use the light” at least that I’ve found.

I prefer working with what void elves already have and the Void Knight concept based off our already existent Riftblades.

Plus it allows for more focused lore for void elves all following their path.

That said I’m assuming this would be through a skin like system, one that likely has to be applied or possibly would have an option to revert to “light” rather than void for those who just want the regular paladin. (and because if they add paladin they’re going to have an option for high elves… I mean they’ve mostly only added things for them so far and I don’t expect that trend to falter over something as big as paladins.)

But I imagine lorewise they’ll be portrayed as void using knights.

Honestly speaking though y’all, what classes would you like to see for Void Elves and Nightborne?

I’d love Druids and Shamans for Void Elves and Herne seems to like that suggestion as well, but I do love paladins as well, and demon hunter is a great class in general. So I really wouldn’t mind and would be very happy with whichever one we got.

For Nightborne my nr 1 would be Druid and probably shaman or demon hunter.

My favorite potential class additions for Void Elves remain Demon Hunter and Paladin. Albeit under the condition that there is a Void themed class skin available to each, which luckily, Keyboardturner/Simaia whipped up Void themed skins for both classes;

This one while not designed for Void Elves specifically, it does provide visuals and a fantasy for the concept and Void Elves would be a shoe in for such an option.

For Void Paladins, I’d like to see them involve a Dark Naaru, or perhaps Alleria who had also consumed the essence of a Dark Naaru. Exploring the Void state of a Naarus life cycle, if you will.

I also like the idea of Nightmare Druids and am more or less neutral on Shaman, though I know some do want the class for Void Elves as well.

Old Gods if they take us the route of the Night Elves I’ll quit for real…

Honestly if they did do a Void Knight I’d be thrilled. Hell if they just give me glyphs for my warrior to make her abilities more voidy I’d love it.

Other than that, I’m always for druids.

This would make me really happy for a Void Elf DH, and also would fit for my story for my Blood Elf Demon Hunter… whose a bit crazy.

I think we just need some of our Riftblades to go a little further. Its not a far stretch really and doesn’t require any real changes by Blizzard.

What if instead of these desperate attempts at multiple mount bundles in the shop, they actually introduced CLASS SKINS in the shop?! Imagine Necromancer warlock skin, Dark ranger hunter skin, and Void Knight Paladin skin. They could use Simaia’s concept class skin art for inspiration. I’d gladly throw them my money for those.

Imagine a ‘‘Void touched’’ Demon hunter. Like the one Fen linked above. Looks sick.

So much more prefer this to be its own full class.

I don’t think this should be limited for a class either. Dark Rangers show up as Hunters and Rogues at the very least.

I think this one would work really well for a Skin concept though. As well as Paladins for Night Elves using Elune colored powers or even changing up what the Sunwalkers and Prelates use a bit.

That sounds like a really cool idea.

Would that not be a little too similar to Unholy DK? Although I suppose Necromancer can look more Diablo-ish, summoning hordes of skeletons etc.

That would look so cool. It could be called something like Knight of Elune or even Warden. And could hold those interesting crescent blades.

First I don’t see why that would be an issue, and second no, I’ve spoken about how limited a view that is on the Necromancer in Necromancer threads many times.

UH DK doesn’t come close to a necromancer.

I’d call it a Blade of Elune. They’re not Wardens that should be its own thing too.

Letting them use Glaives would be amazing.

Sure I guess. I’d hold out for Druid for them myself. Easier to explain.
