Please Give Rogue Tank AoE Next Phase

Rogue tank isn’t top dps, doesn’t bring a raid buff, can’t mitigate magic at all, lowest stam of any tank, worst aoe of any tank. Like can we please get an AOE at the very least so that we can actually do dungeons. I’ve been rogue tanking for the past few weeks and man it just sucks when guild members say they are looking for a tank for a dungeon, but I can’t join because I know a lower level tank could do better than me because they can actually hold threat aoe.

I have a few Ideas that would help with this:

  1. Fan Of Knives, this is just the basic go to that makes sense and gives rogue in general a way to do aoe.
  2. Make Blade Flurry more than 1 target. (I don’t like this option because it lowers your energy regen)
  3. Give rogue an AOE Tricks of the Trade that applies to all parry memebers and makes 30% of all threat generated back to the rogue.
  4. Make Blade Dance reflect damage and deal a high amount of threat.

it’s bad enough that the main rogue tanking rune is locked behind a flavorless, tasteless rep grind

It’s not that bad now they move it to only friendly (after I spent over 15 hours farming crates lmao) but it def was super late change. And the main gauche ruin takes up to 20g to leveling engineering for the questline. Blizz just didn’t want us to actually tank ig.

Fun stuff, I would have personally preferred we had to go on a pirate ship and steal it or something at least. The rep grind was just put there because they didn’t know how to make a good fun way to actually get those runes.

FoK on a small cooldoow, or some kind of poison bomb would be cool.

Until they make Main Gauche actually worth using, you should be using Saber Slash.

  1. If FoK is handed to us, there is a good chance it’ll compete with an “intended” Tank rune in the same slot, the way Saber Slash and Main Gauche compete. That’s no big deal if the Tank rune is bad… like Main Gauche… but I’d rather not have crappy Tank runes at all, and to properly compete it would need to be a useful, high-threat, average damage AoE.
  2. I’d rather not overload a standard DPS CD.
  3. I like a modified Tricks of the Trade idea. Use on another its standard, but if used on self make it redirect group threat. The inversion of skills feels like a good way to make Rogue Tanks function (Feint into Tease).
  4. Blade Dance procing OH hits with a massive threat modifier sounds pretty good to me, especially if poison or on-hit procs can function with the threat modifier.

I doubt we’ll see any hot swap of CPs and our current rotations really don’t call for any boost in Energy regen… plus unless they tie EVERYTHING to Just a Flesh Wound or Blade Dance, would be abused by DPS/PvP Rogues if given the chance.
