I have been leveling a few characters classic and doing some bgs to get some gear and xp for CTA, to those who don’t know 79 twinks are a thing that infest these brackets. Fully decked out and geared level 79s who turn off their exp bar so they stay 79 permenately.
The reason they do this is to rampage on people in blue and green gear that are still in the process of leveling… is it fun? I guess if you like ripping wings off dragonflies. Blizzard use to have it so when you turn off your exp generation, you only play against other people who have done the same. (people who are actually able to challenge you)
My toons have some leveling gear but it’s not fun to die in 1-3 hits every round from someone who actually took the time to make a character just to 1 shot people in a lower bracket bg.
I can assure you, there are plenty of 79 twinks alliance and horde side that can have fun fighting each other, please put them in their own category.
Some people will argue “oh its faster ques” maybe barely, but it shifts the games tide to whoever has the most 79 twinks wins and its not really fun for those of us doing it on a more honest note, other than that… no good excuse to continue this.
here’s an example of why it’s bad, imagine your team has no 79 twinks in wsg. other team has 2 of them, one disc priest (17k hp and 14k mana) and one prot war (with 28k hp) yes I’ve seen that. Who wins? When the average player on your team has 10k hp and hits like a gnat on the 79s? You get camped at your gy… nothing you can do because the prot war is holding your flag and can’t be killed and hits you guys for 3-6k… so you either leave or let them camp you.

79 twinks don’t have nearly the advantage that 70 & 60 twinks have in the 61-70 and 51-60 AV brackets.
There is some gear differential but not nearly so wide, and no gap that comes to mind in chants/gems/consumes.

Everyone who twinks is usually a garbage pvper. I’ve seen players who spin with “A” and “D”, I’ve seen backpedaling, I’ve seen clickers. They rely on gear to have a fighting chance. That being said being 1-3 shot is annoying but killing 79 twinks when you are 71 feels amazing and you know they are raging.

there’s level 78 sets for every class basically that gives them the power of a semi geared level 80. all the 79 twinks run this gear to the best of their abilities causing them to have the power of a level 80 player and the stats.
They seem like bads who are too scared to ding one more level and face opponents who actually want to pvp. These twinks just want to farm bots and levellers who need welfare epics

Lol, no pity for the undergeared. Kudos on your secretarial skills, how many words a minute do you type on those pretty little manicured hands? if you think this is a game of dexterity then you deserve to get one shot, It is a gearcentric rng based game and keyboard vs click really is moot because game has latency issues and tbh some of us just twink to see how maxed out you can get, what you dont realise is that alot of twinks have situational gear sets to accomodate changing conditions, also there very large class disparities so group comp and communication is huge and well beyond knowing a dps rotation, countering and cooldowns play a big role in survival, as well as playing as a team and knowing what each class brings to the table and what to expect from oposing players. If twinking werent the object of the game then what do you call endgame bis. GDKP anyone??? You just mad cause your mediocre toon got steamrolled by a well built one. PvP is never casual but you want to make it that way. NOPE, just go raidlog if you want a casual sunday drive, otherwise deal with the hot rodders blowing the doors off your station wagon.

No, your absolutely right, I gear to compensate for dexterity. Honestly I just had my shoulder replaced have to mouse with a cutting board in my lap. Im pretty proud of myself just to be able to parse green let alone work on 10 man hardmode progress with my guild. Also im commenting on bgs not arena. But even there, gear trumps skill, its only when you have homoginized pvp like fps games that have no caracter progression structure that dexterity becomes the primary deciding factor.
lol i just played an alt in 1400 2s and every hpal has valanyr. anyway enjoy farming levellers in communal gear. And rogue bots afk walking into a tree stump 3 at a time. ur the man
79 twinks remind me of a kid in a G35 flybying a guy in a mini van who didn’t even know you were trying to race. At least 19s 29s etc the majority of players are twinks, 79 is like 80% communal boost chars, and bots

You may be a better player, but Im a better builder. From all the cryhards comments about twinking its pretty obvious which gets more results. Its so cliche to twinkhate over a game that was designed around rng statistics and class/spec handicap/advantage vs different opponents, Arena Is the embodiment of it in respect to direct pvp of killed or be killed, wheras bgs are team objective based, In both realms whether it be the top of the bracket or bottom , or team win/loss ranking leaderboards, gear is first and skill is secondary because without the gear your squishy. What you all are really crying about is not having rated bgs which would use skillbased matchmaking similar to arenas.

I’ve been queuing on a 73 DK and have run into some 79 twinks arguing. I kind of chuckled, and thought, “What a troll bracket. lol”
But meh… idc have fun if you like 79 twinking. It isn’t bothering me
Who doesnt throw away comunal gear day 1? NOPE! not for me, thats like going out in public wearing a trash bag and crocks. Sure maybe a piece or two that actually better than whats available in ah like trinkets. Arena is level capped and skill based matchmaking and in this thread it is a strawman argument anyways. Its a flawed system called open bracket random grouping battlegrounds, Rated bgs are the real solution.
I’m leveling this twink exactly for this purpose. Already got most of the bis gear.

79 twinking is just straight up weird. far weirder than any other bracket.
the people you are playing against, who aren’t bots or afk, clearly do not really want to be there, they are BGing as a means to an end and you’re just there making it even more miserable for them.
if you really enjoyed pvp then you’d just do 80 BGs and/or arena.

i see the analogy for this kind of twinking like riding the bus to work. Most people are sleeping, looking their phones, minding their own business but there is one crazy, piss soaked homeless guy roaming around the bus begging for change. No one wants to interact with him but he won’t go away until he’s got his pennies from you.
