After completing the Otter Devastation Quest, the Shark Fin won’t go away off of your back and obscures showing your weapon. I worked hard back in the day to get that weapon, I’d like to see it when I play, Thnx.

I am having this issue as well. I used my water mount to complete the objectives, but idk if that makes any difference for why the object seems stuck to my back or not.

Same here, have to log out.
i logged in the next day and still had it in my back. However after complaining about it in general chat, it suddenly disappeared.

Less than fun fact, it now does the same thing randomly after I skin something. I’m stuck with a skinner’s knife until I log out. It looks really dumb when you shoot arrows out of a knife, just sayin.

As of 1/10/23 this is still an issue for me. The ONLY thing I can do to get rid of it is throw myself off a cliff. This has become my routine everyday thinking it would be fixed soon, but nope. Flying Fish/Otter Devastation/Swan Dive to my death.

This is still an issue. It also prevents me from using a cloak. Just got the Tuskar cloak from Renown 12, and I can’t even try it out.

Still happening as of 1-31-23, this is getting dumb now.
Still happening as of today, February 7th, 2023.
Current work around is to log out for ~30sec. Unacceptable.
If you can’t get it fixed, disable the fin until you can, thanks.

I don’t mind the fin while I’m doing the Tuskarr daily. But I would really like it to go away as soon as the quest is complete. It’s distracting, and as others have said, it hinders the character’s appearance to the point that some items (cloak and weapon, specifically) are no longer visible.
I agree with the comment above that it should just be disabled until you can fix it.
I just now saw the same thing. Completed quest, fin stuck on back.
ETA: When I ran off the tenth ottuk, it disappeared. But I left and re-entered the quest area before turning it in. That’s when it came back and would not go away.
Jumping off a tall cliff to go splat made it go away, though.
Still happening here as well. A couple times it has just gone away, but it isn’t working to log out this evening.
OK, I did some fooling around today, and I think I can replicate how it happens dependably.
PROCEDURE:
- Accept quest “Otter Devastation.”
- Complete quest objectives without leaving quest area. Result: shark fin disappears.
- Before turning quest in, leave and re-enter quest area. Result: shark fin re-appears.
- Turn quest in. Result: shark fin does not disappear.
I think the bug has to do with exiting and re-entering the quest area before you turn the quest in.

Can’t figure out how to get rid of the mechanical shark fin, did a search and found this thread. Can’t believe this is still an issue
You could be correct about this… I accidentally left one of the fishing hole quests uncompleted yesterday, and logged in this morning, went back to the fishing hole and lo and behold, shark fin.
