i think it’s a bad idea. i don’t want to see any piece of fantasy that’s left in this game catering to Mythic+, PvP or anything like that.

You guys should take it up with the developers, because THEY’RE the ones who created this problem, starting this expansion, by making tons of mechanics that you can just remove with Stoneform/Fireblood. Including Mythic-only raid boss mechanics.

They didn’t used to do that. They changed, this expansion. It’s deliberate.

Don’t like the reaction? Tell the devs to knock it off, then.

A 10% damage reduction (which Stoneform would still have, even if the debuff removal was taken out) is still better than many other racials.

Maybe play the game some? Being a troll here isn’t going to change the fact that some racials are indeed better than others, and allow for an easier time in all aspects of some content.

Stoneform is the one in question and to deny the factual information that has been presented to you by a host of other posts, is nothing short of delusion. So I hope you enjoy that fictional grass you ask me to join you with. I’ll be right here looking at logical data.

Dwarf racials need to be toned down to where dwarf isn’t required.

I’d much rather be orc on most of my toons but dwarf is just so strong due to having the best offensive and best defensive racial in the game it’s not even comparable.

That doesn’t sound fun to me, when the choice boils down to:

“Easier Play Every day” vs “something I enjoy playing or pretending to role play as”

I love Vulpera but they are basically a labor of love. Worst Combat Racials. That Bag of Tricks does next to nothing - its output should be doubled to compare with other Racial Self Heals, at least.

My Rogue is a Vulpera because it is so adorable - even though Highmountain and Mechagnome have superior Racials. That is a frustrating choice. That isn’t a meaningful choice.

It is frustrating pigeon holing that races are given imbalanced Combat abilities, and the choice comes down to “something you enjoy” vs “something that performs better.”

I’m not interested in nuking racials just so a handful of players can maybe cheese a few mechanics in high-level content.

Here is the thing - a handful of people are cheesing a few mechanics right now. The point of removing busted racials would be so no one is cheesing mechanics with busted racials. People would actually play Races because they like the Race, instead of choosing a Character based on the busted combat racial abilities.

So personal opinion but this is one of the fastest ways to homogenization as possible. This same thing would be happening if a class or race was 1% better than everything else. People would be complaining that they feel obligated to play x thing. Now maybe the racial is much stronger than anything else at the moment but that could change with a change to how they design a fight. They could remove all combat related racials and people would probably still complain. Until things are nerfed to the point that people are complaining about vulpera make camp being too strong. Which blizzard either removes racials entirely or gives everyone the exact same ones, which if youre really lucky might get different animations and names. Then we just get more threads on how blizzard has ruined race or class identity.

I’ll give anyone playing at a high enough level that racials do matter that it might be required. Though I would expect that level of players are in a super slim minority and would change race to get a 1% increase in dps if that was considered to be the best.

Or rather core mechanics should be designed to ignore racials that would otherwise prevent them from functioning.

The funny thing is they did do this, for a very long time, and then they just sorta stopped.

Dwarf removing magic is a very recent change, and in the past if bliz made an important bleed on a boss fight they’d just make stoneform not work on it.

Racials aren’t miniscule in M+. S3 MDI was chalk full of nelves abusing Shadowmeld for whacky skips. Stoneform, as referenced in this post, is a major help on the Sentinel Talondris boss in Uldaman. There are most definitely instances of racials being game changing. It’s why the old belf racial had to be changed, and why the human one was changed.

Just let me choose my racial from any racial in the game like a covenant or something or the skyriding active ability in DF.

That would make them not racials.

It would just be an ability chosen on character creation which really doesn’t make any sense. And it would just end up with 99% of people picking the same ability.

Is it so broken that theres some sort ot widespread gatekeeping going on? Is the dwarf population exploding like they’re rabbits? It seems pretty niche overall and not worth nuking beause people wont stop with there with their demands.

There’s been a gradual move over in the mythic scene to night elf and dwarf throughout DF. The main thing that prevented it was a lack of cross faction support for guilds which is being rectified even more in TWW.

It’s also worth noting that they can fix this in numerous ways that don’t affect the racials themselves, including change the way raid boss and dungeon mechanics interact with stoneform and shadowmeld back to how they used to, before bliz even created this problem for themselves in the first place.

Something will always be the best, and that’s fine, but where we’re at right now is “This mechanic doesn’t even happen if it targets someone with a racial that negates it”.
