i want to say first before anything i am not about to ask to change designs but instead fix something about old tabards that is just wrong.
as you try a old tabard without a belt it just leaves a invisible line across your hips and it is just wrong.
ever sense Shadow Lands came out i noticed that you blizzard had fix this with the new Shadowland’s faction tabards.
so i’ll ask…
why haven’t ya done this for the old tabards?? please fix it Blizzard.
a full tabard is better than a cut in a half one…

Well probably because the missing texture part doesn’t exist in old tabards.
Artists would leave it blank where the belt is suppose to be. But they decided to change that in Shadowlands and add some extra texture for those who prefer to hide the belt.
It’s very unlikely they will rework all the previous Tabards.

i know, wish is why i am asking why haven’t they done it yet?
but i suppose they might not have enough resources?? well what ever i still think they should have a few people to fix it.
Because they never do that, reworking old gear. They focus on new content. Some of these textures are +15 years old.

Prioritizing other stuff would be my guess.

yeah, but sense Microsoft is in play now, now i wonder if they will do it…
i still think they should…
If I had to guess I would imagine there is (was back then) only one tabard “object” and they just add different textures to it to make new tabards. So fixing the base tabard object should fix all tabards using that object.
Think of it like
websites that use a template. If I have 10 websites and I want to change the font of all of them I’m not going to change the font of each website one by one I’ll just change what the font is in the template and all websites will now have their fonts updated.
Unless I’m wrong and it doesn’t work like that and every tabard is its own unique object and they would have to fix them all one by one in which case

It does not work like that. Every single tabard share the same 3D model but all the textures are unique.
You cannot fix the base model where the belt is because there is no model. It’s only a texture. And that missing texture doesn’t exist so it has to be hand painted. On every single tabard.

I don’t think Blizz has ever said so I have no idea how it works
Me: One might call this…
Microsoft: Don’t
Me: …a…
Microsoft: Stop now!
Me: …window…of opportunity

Me: ah this one, this one gets it…
Microsoft facepalm*
No no no that’s now how it works.
Yes, you could change the “base” of the tabard object to extend into belts, but there would be no data. It would likely be the same thing it is now, transparent. They’d have to go into all the tabards and texture them individually or do some crappy auto generation of textures that would look awful

We want all of these things fixed.
We want this more than new content.
So slightly less work than the average rep grind. Casul devs.
they should have a noob Tabard for each faction where like maybe you unlock a little intro into the faction or just get friendly first and then you can purchase it and then when you wear it itll give you a rep increase % with everything you do for them. Also ALL tabards should get unlocked in tabard panel and then you can create them whenever you want like heirlooms so none of them are sitting around taking space

I really want them to fix the Onyxian Drake first. It has a glitch to its jump. Every time you jump and land it glitches like it wants to go through the jump animation again… It’s very jarring
.
Not sure if they have fixed it yet. Pretty sure they haven’t…
Microsoft is probably going to leave them alone to develop for the most part. They aren’t some mystical savior.
Also, they aren’t in play yet.
I also low-key hate that the bottom half of the tabard just disappears when worn over cloth. The only reason it does that I can think of is to avoid clipping issues, something the devs have never seemed to care about otherwise, so lol.
Either way, it’s weird and ugly.

Also equipping certain belts will clip weirdly with tabards, like they’ll leave an empty space underneath the belt/bottom half of the tabard and continue the belt texture weirdly onto the tabard. I’ve noticed it with most high-waisted style belts. Looks pretty bad and limits your belt options
It would also be nice if you could choose to let the tabard flow underneath some belts instead of being cut off (like if the belt is “too big”), or have the tabard look like a shirt (not just the front cut off but the back too)

im down with this, the invinsible belt tabard as a starting faction tabard to raise your rep and ones exalted you get the full body tabard.
i feel it would be something that can motivate me to raise my rep in wow with all types of factions.
