This phasing is really killing it for me.
I’m standing there in Azshara. There is a small hill in front. And Tauren in front of the hill keeps on pgasing in and out.
That distance isn’t far, and it just looks broken.

I don’t think there is phasing in classic or layering anymore. Maybe this Tauren was at the very edge of your view distance
I think there is. I also think there’s scaling.
It’s draw distance. And it sucks but the alternative is a lagging game.
My computer is from 2011 running all at max. How do you have lag? Your computer must be potato

All the stupid guild names & the non-name “funny” character names break the immersion for me, & makes the game feel like a short-bus grade-school outing.
No potato, I keep mine set on about 7.
When running through that zone, in the distance you can see the edge of a circle of ground clutter forming as you run. And you can see it all the way around you. Its strange but if the game tried to draw as far as I can see, like it use to, it would be tough on anyone’s machine with the “better” graphic settings. I haven’t tried the recommended setting of 3 to see what it looks like. I’m betting the ground clutter would be gone.

Classic/Vanilla has far lower draw distance than modern wow. That’s why is very easy to see ground draw in like that.
What’s your draw distance set at? Cranking that helps. That being said, WoW’s draw distance was always a little on the light side, IMO.
And of all the things to kill immersion for me… swimming while wearing plate.
