In maps that include medium/larg bodies of water, some death knights will spam their death grip ability to keep a person (typically a healer) in the water. The challenge is that mind controlling, fearing, and running does not put enough distance between the DK and the target in order to swim away, resulting in the target being gripped back again. I can’t think of another ability that a class has to completely immobilize a player for an entire match. This use of the ability feels like an exploit, and makes the game beyond annoying to play. Someone earlier posted about adding a DR to death grip used in PVP. Please consider doing that or finding some other solution.
Can you give an example of a place where a DK kept a healer in a body of water?

I’ve been dragged from waterworks to the mines ocean in SL on one of my healers by a blood dk, recently i’ve been pulled into the water by the farm flag but thankfully had teammates running by and decide to be helpful
Also really annoying being pulled under the waterwheel at waterworks
If every other caster can knock me off every other map, I can grip you under water for a few seconds. tf
(meanwhile warlocks are aoe teleporting entire teams off the map in eots(or to a lesser degree outside the fight in market in DWG))
I could see a priest healer getting trapped in water by a dk for awhile. Most classes would be able to wiggle away after a bit. Pretty lame they would abuse priests lack of mobility in that way.
This honestly feels just about impossible to do unless you were afk for 3 minutes straight
Are these usable in RBGs?
Unfortunately no they are for unrated only. If you are getting gripped that long in RBG hopefully your team will be alert enough to help you.
If it were only a few seconds I wouldn’t have a problem. The issue is that some DKs with double grip can grip players into the deep end of a body of water. The player can’t swim out in time for the grip to come up again, resulting in the player being in the water for as long as the DK chooses (usually the entire game).
I’ve kept a disc priest moist in twin peaks for 3-4 minutes, as a mage!
Perhaps we need to reduce the amount of control people have over other players, and increase the amount of control we have over our own character.
Yeah the main map ive seen ite done on is battle for gilneas, there is river on the east side of the node (near the waterfall).
Blood dks can grip a healer away and keep them out of the teamfight.
Its mainly a blood dk trick.
It is incredibly toxic and awful on the receiving end.
I see youve also been a victim of the bdks abducting you from your team.

The difference is you will rez in 30 secs after you get thrown off the cliff. But if you’re being constantly gripped in the water, you could be there the whole game.
Anything with a decent body of water. AB, seething, gilneas are all very doable
