Please explain possible reason for that release date

My thing would be, if the 17th is too early, why even do the 23rd?

If it’s the “2020” date then just delay the raid…they aren’t legally obligated to drop that content like they would be to drop the expansion.

Push it back the week after, release normal and heroic on the first of December. Delay mythic release until after Christmas (just a week delay). Let the hard working employs enjoy their vacations and as dumb as it sounds, don’t make it a choice between WoW and seeing family.

The big thing i dont get it they made a big deal about pushing it back to fix things… and we have barely seen any substantial changes to the things they were complaining about??? like everything they have changed could have been done in the time we were leveling and enjoying new content???

I just lost like…50 bucks in bets with my friends as I had the first week in December down as it threaded the needle between holidays.

This would have pushed Mythic release (in my mental timeline at least) to the first week in January allowing max flex for peoples holidays.

There is a certain shopping event that happens after thanks giving im sure Activision does not want to miss at any cost.

And I somehow doubt the whole pandemic thing is going to stop the idiots from packing into every toy store they can shoulder to shoulder.

It was ready?

Because that is the date they decided on. You don not have to play then

Are you kidding?

Do you know how many types of jobs have to work on weekends or holidays?

Why should a video game that runs all the time be any different?

that would actually work.

Hrm…very true. Not something I had really considered as I’ve mentally had black Friday cancelled for several months.

That’s what I’m saying lol…seems to make incredibly more sense

I’ll look for a link but I’m telling you I personally pre-ordered the day it became available and it said “on or before December 31st, 2019” and it launched in January 2021

Maybe because its 16 years to the exact day that WoW was originally released? Doesn’t bother me.

idk they probably have some reason internally. you dont just choose a release date because you do. they had their reasons. i seriously doubt a billon dollar company would have thought of that.

You mean like Walmart? Or production plants? Yeah, I’m well aware dearie.
Even these companies, production plants, etc may run at reduced staff for some holidays to give people a chance to spend time with their families.

I’m sure the reasoning for not being the 17th is they want that extra week, the only thing I could think of for not doing the week after is they didn’t want to delay any longer…

But I’m sure people and their employees would of appreciated it not landing the week of a holiday no?

This exactly.

Everyone complaining about the date are just entitled.

They would be outraged no matter the release date.

No one’s turkey day holiday starts on the damn 17th!

That’s a long a** thanksgiving if it did lol

maybe that week will be the week they need to figure out covenants.

The release date contradicts a lot of Blizzards previous statements. My theory is it’s likely the developers and corporate are butting heads.

I don’t think the guys in charge of the money even wanted the game delayed. It was probably a stroke of luck the developers even got the first one.

I imagine corporate wants this product out now, and the Devs just lost the fight on that argument.
