Blizzard this multi year, multi expansion experiment of scaling templates and no pvp gear has not panned out. Participation has plummeted to an all time low. Please restore Player Versus Player Gear items from vendors. these items must be seperated from regular gear with some sort of stat such as PVP power (Mists of Pandaria) or Resilience (Wotlk, TBC)
Love this post, but unfortunately blizzard seems to love to allow their mythic raiders to be able to 4v1 in PvP lol.
except thatâs not even remotely true. as much as gear matters, skill still matters more. if you take two players with low skill, then sure, the mythic raider will probably win, however if you take a pvper with high skill and mediocre gear(415) against a mythic raider with 445 and level 70 neck but low skill, the pvper probably wouldnât even notice the gear difference.
never mind that if you are keeping up with conquest, even casual battlegrounds are offering 430 gear now, and i get plenty of aspirant drops that WF/TF over 400 ilvl. so there is no way a mythic raider is walking into a bg and stomping pvpers 1v4.
Or WoD system that was better than both of those and didnt require weird balancing on a pvp stat
This has not been my experience.
Who isnât at least 430+ at this point? Weâre already well into the season, are people just lazy?
Most of my alts are 430+ despite only doing the bare minimum and one +10 run per toon/per week⊠what are people doing that theyâre not at least 430+ by now? Are you even playing the game?
Getting gear is so easy, I donât understandâŠ
im not, almost there, but not yet
i play how i feel like playing, which does not include a weekly +10, iâve seen the dungeons, no need to see them again.
even still, i am in no way underpowered for pvp.
amen âŠ
How are you getting 430 pieces from normal BGs?
Weekly PVP gear rewards are progressive, once you finish the 415 set, the rewards change to 430sâŠas you can see, iâm wearing several.
I think what he is referring to is that 500 conquest per week would still result in players having mostly 430 items at this point.
No, I was referring to just running +10âs on alts. My alts are all still stuck on the poverty 415-level conquest rewards. I only really bother with conquest-capping my main each week, thereâs just not enough hours in the day to try to conquest-cap 4-5 different alts haha
If you run even just one +10 per week (a time investment of ~30-40 minutes per week), and do that for a couple weeks, you will eventually be 430+ with very little effort⊠all the gear really adds up, especially if you get any war/titan-forges along the way
But you make a good point, even if people do absolutely 0 PvE content and have just been conquest capping every week, they âshouldâ be in mostly 430 items by now
I find that doing +10s is a matter of who you know, canât run those without a team.
Majority of people pug them. Only when you get to 15+ does this come a thing. I pug 10-12 with ease.
I think for most people if youâre undergeared and donât have a group to run with finding and getting accepted to a +10 group, filling up and successfully completing it (not a guarantee if youâre ~400-420 going with PuGs) will on average take a lot longer than 30 minutes unless you get lucky.
Yes, please.
To anyone in disagreement with OP, youâre reverting back to the argument âjust go PvEâ when people only want to PvP. Weâre compelled to do content we donât enjoy or get outgeared, whereas before we had a PvP specific stat that still gave us SOMETHING worthwhile.
I would love to see the community respond if PvErs had to do some sort of PvP to keep their gear up to par, but that wonât happen.
weekly conquest cap starts to offer heroic raid ilvl partway through the season. also aspirant gear can occasionally TF. if you are running bgs as your main content, capping and getting a ton of aspirant is not an issue.
Scaling/templates, a PvP-only stat, and reasonable gear being rewarded for PvP activities are all separate subjects.
Scaling is a good thing. A great thing, actually (it was the only good component of templates).
PvP stats were and are a bad idea. Why should PvPâers have to be gimped in the open world and have to re-gear entirely from scratch to begin participating in PvE?
Rewarding better gear for PvP through a currency-vendor system is totally suitable is the absence of resil/PvP power.
i would not assume most of them are bad at pvp. the ones that dont pvp, you wont see in bgs anyway, the ones you do are usually know what they are doing
