Please drop renown for honor gear

Blizz PLEASE remove renown requirements for 5/7.

Here is why I believe you should.

  1. A major point to a season is to reset the playing field. Anyone that played last season will have a huge advantage if they achieved any respectable rating. 203 (without renown) versus 225+.
  2. PvE catch-up gear is obtainable a week prior to honor gear being available
  3. PvE catch-up gear is upgradable to to 220 ilvl (without requirements) whereas currently next week max pvp ilvl will be 216 (if you have renown requirements)
  4. Conquest gear already does not have renown requirement only rating, so a top player will be able to push 2.1k+ and be able to start upgrading to ilvl 259 which after week 1 they will have at least one piece drop from the vault.
  5. Not every character will have the 43 renown level and will have to be forced to do a significant amount of content that is either un desirable or suffer through poorly balanced PVP matches to get to renown 43.
  6. With separation of pvp and pve ilvls it no longer has a major impact on the capacity for players using this gear for PvE content.

Definitely agree. I remember seeing the honor gear and hoping that’s would be viable again.

The amount of honor required is enough time gating idk why they feel the need for more

Honor gear is a trap.

Trust me if you want to avoid major headaches focus on conquest/PVE gearing methods starting now and also next week.

Honor gear may be worthwhile to fully upgrade gaps in your gearing though. But don’t bother fully upgrading an entire honor gear set. It is a trap.

SL PvP gearing is a joke that keeps getting funnier.

How can they not see how bad pvp gearing is?

And if they still think its an issue they can lower the pve ilvl even more, i think the majority of pvp players wouldnt care if the PvE ilvl for honor gear was trash as long as its decent in PvP and easy to get.
