So I say this as a new/casual player, the catalyst is SUCH a nice addition. I mean being able to get tier sets earlier is just funner, it still requires grinding some but doesn’t feel like a slog or “getting lucky” to get your tier sets.
For someone with not as much time to play as they used to have it’s just such a refreshing addition and I hope it remains in the game for expansions to come. I assume it’s popular among other players but I just wanted to throw my comment in and say it’s a great thing to have for casual players.

I like the catalyst. Saves alot of time and frustration. Who wants to have to lose a roll every week for an item that your spec depends on.
I do have a feeling that there will be some here that want it removed because “tier sets are only for raiding and only mythic raiders should have access to tier set appearances and bonuses.”

I am in super agreement. After I’ve reached whatever goals I’ve set for my main for the season, I mostly run +2s or whatever to get pieces to catalyze for the tier appearances for alts.
The catalyst keeps me engaged for far longer than I would be if it weren’t in the game.

Wonders about the poster’s position on dinars.
Anyone who advocates for dinars being removed completely if they don’t give mythic track for everyone should also be fine with catalyst being removed.
Where did they say the catalyst was being removed?
If the catalyst is removed, I would actually stop playing because relying on great vault rng for tier pieces would be absurd.
And actually engaging with the raid would be even more absurd.

Personally regarding Dinars, I think they are fine. I’m actually ok with “non mythic raiders NOT getting mythic stuff”. I’m ok with not having the “top tier stuff” since I don’t put in the time/effort for mythic stuff.
I mean it’s sorta the same for catalyst right? You need mythic gear to get mythic tier sets. But either way I would mind it either way, that’s just my general position.
not sure why they would get rid of something they’ve had for a few expansions now…was something said about removing it?
Catalyst has been a huge success, it’s not going away. At worst it could be delayed a bit longer at the start of patches.
Does need separate charges for PVP gear though.

I completely agree with this.
The change I think should be made is the transmogs part of this.
If you have myth level gear it should unlock all subsequent colors below that with the exception of pvp gear colors

at first it was one charge every two weeks… later into the season they changed to one charge every week

Catalyst is also pretty nice for rerolling gear for better stats. Sometimes ur good on tier and can use it for an off piece. Since for whatever reason reforging got taken away this is a decent substitute.
