Yeah I haven’t gotten the consumables, but I did get Kruul down to 13% as my best attempt.
I am an alchemist though, so I’ve got unlimited number of Unbridled Fury potions and Greater Flasks, and adding in the potions does seem to help considerably.
I was just curious about other classes. I’m not sure how their stat weights fall and if it’s easier to stack Vers for them or not
I have an extremely large number of sub 5k pulls on Kruul, but then I also constantly have phases where it is annihilate 3 and he is only at 30k hp just because of RNG on all the spawns.
Also, it is annoying how sometimes the adds die in 1 global and other times they live through 3 regenves and a thunderclap.
The fun thing is some challenges are straight up broken class wise. Brewmaster for example, it’s doable for sure but your stagger is useless. I haven’t gone over like 3% stagger so Dave doesn’t do damage because it’s based on stagger. Celestial brew is also based off stagger. So you have to beat the mage tower with a tank kit that is not functional. It being hard I love that. My tank kit not working is what I dislike.
I’ve had better luck this morning than last night. P2 is nearly constant and guaranteed for me today. Still haven’t gotten past the second Annihilate today though
I feel like if they just knocked 10k off Kruul’s health it would fix the encounter, you would still have to do p1 and all of the p2 mechanics but it would remove the RNG fishing for higher uptime in p2.
I could also stop being cheap and use consumeables, but I am cheap.
I’ve also noticed that the first boss goes to cast drain health and the notification for it is off… or reverse the notification says he’s about ready to cast it and he doesn’t cast it.
I get a little panicky and make mistakes when I tried to pay attention, but I think he casts it every 5% of life you knock off. Now I doubt it’s actually set to that as I know not damaging him at all he’ll get around to casting it…but it seemed that some times he’d take longer to cast his Drain Life than others.
In Moonkin I’d be getting off a lot more Wraths before having to deal with his heal than other attempts?
I’ve noticed this as well, but for me it’s usually just shortly after I just interrupted it, i’ll see the notification for it and panic and check…and he’s mid cast of Mind Rend
I doubt it is health based, I get him down to 60% in my opener on prot war but he still takes his time casting it, but never casts more than once in a 15s window.
OP acts like there isn’t come colossal grey area between ‘way too hard’ and ‘nerfed to steamroll levels’
it’ll be fine buddy, has a lotta room for nerfs while still being challenging
it’s weird that you ignore the detailed breakdowns of how it is harder than it was in legion (and it is 100% recycled content with bliz spending a minimum of time balancing it)
The problem is when he holds on to it instead of casting it when it is off CD, it messes up the entire flow of the fight and causes it to become a mess.
The way it is now, it definitely is taking a lot of attempts. This isn’t scaleable for all specs. The tower is not currently designed for every spec’s specific weakenesses. Shadow priest is supposed to kite/tank a mob lmao.
Besides we don’t have the same talents we did back in Legion.
if you have mythic raiders failing the mage tower, then its overtuned. you cant release something and call it challenging when there are top 10 percent of players of the game cant do it. it needs to be tuned for the normal raid enjoyers or lfr enjoyers or whoever makes up the majority of the playerbase.
I hope not, because the impression you give in your OP is that you do LFR and Normal but I only see 1 LFR kill this xpac. This thread feels very disingenious.
If they keep it as is - they should bring back the original rewards.
Right now it’s harder than it was at the end of Legion. I’m not saying this is a bad thing - but if it’s harder, then people should have a shot at the original rewards.
I think Raest is a good example of what you said about fair vs overtuned depending on spec.
Raest’s health for aff lock is 202k, while the other spec are around 100k.
IMO, that health was meant for Legion version, where our spender was UA. Stack 5 UA and kite feels manageable.
However, SL version spender as MR means we need to stand still and cast to do a lot of burst. The 9.1 nerf to aff single target dmg certainly isn’t helping here either.
Honestly the mechanics are fine and challenging and I like that part… it’s when you pop CDs, lust and use pots and his health barely hits 80% on burn phases that feels bad.
