They pretty much are just buffing firestorm and they’re not even trying to hide it. No one wants a stationary AOE that is small and doesn’t even slow like Frost Mage Blizzard does to keep mobs in. Why do they hate devoker so much?
well yeah it was literally in their actual patch notes for the ptr, so not sure why you linked the datamined changes instead. if you don’t want to run firestorm, don’t run firestorm lol
At this rate why would I not run Firestorm? If it gives me a really big damage boost then I kinda have to play it. Yea you could just not play it and have fun but you lose fun by being bottom dps.
I don’t do M+ so I’m not going to touch the red Blizzard not even with a stick.
No you don’t
No you won’t
2 things. First, unless you’re pushing mythic raids, you don’t really need to min max to that extent. Second, don’t blindly follow sims. Sims aren’t going to account for variables such as the tank moving adds out of your aoe which can completely negate any dps increase provides by the talent
Pretty much why I said this. It’s not fun because of the small aoe and having tank sit in it. Blizzard isn’t good at balancing multiple builds of specs, so the odds of them not over buffing Firestorm to where they just ignore the rest of devoker is kinda low. Possible? Certainly, but low.
Right… lets take Evoker advice from the 7/8 normal, never stepped foot into a single m+ dungeon, warrior… Good stuff. Sims do account for these non-perfect variables. You can set margins of error along with the fight style. But sure. Keep giving everyone all that advice with all of that game knowledge you’ve got.
They attempt to account for the human element of the one executing the rotation, not the proverbial tank.
Wrong. You can adjust for different movement and what % of value you get from certain abilities, I.E. mobs moving out of AoE. Try again.
The different movement options are there to simulate moving out of mechanics, not mobs moving out of your abilities. As for %value from abilities, as far as I know you can only adjust it for certain expansion specific options e.g. phial of corrupting rage or blue silken lining. If you know how I’d love to know.
There’s no situation where running firestorm and the buff talent is better than running the typical M+ build with iridescence instead.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to play it, but if you do, you won’t be quite as far behind as before. Check Preheat’s recent YouTube video on the matter.
They can buff firestorm to the moon and back and it still probably won’t become optimal outside of target dummies because of all the other talents that it competes with being just that much better. With forced Titanic Wrath to reach Causality, any button that does not generate Essence Burst becomes a loss during Dragonrage and since the firestorm talents revolve around spamming Pyre as much as possible it loses a ton of value whenever you have to do ST damage and the gains from using it in AoE don’t outweigh the loss of having it in ST even if the tank is an immovable wall that keeps the mobs all perfectly still.
Snapfire buff is kind of laughable because Snapfire procs off of Living Flame, the ability you only ever use in AoE when Burnout procs so it will mostly proc in single target situations outside of dragonrage but I guess they wanted to make it a choice as the three new talents (Reworked Imminent Destruction/FtF and the new Firestorm Talent) would have pretty much defined Firestorm as the “Just cast Pyre” option.
Blue build will probably still reign supreme as “optimal” choices but I imagine a M+ build might drop Iridescence and Power Swell to go for Imminent Destruction+Onyx Legacy just to get supercharged Pyre spam going every minute to boost their trash DPS.
Sorry, its just hard to take a warrior seriously, that barely plays the game or sees any of the actual content (no mythic + at ALL) when talking about performance topics on a whole other class.
I main evoker so I guess you’re just being willfully ignorant at this point
That’s hurtful you know
Yes, seeing people resort to accusations based on ignorant assumptions is painful.
