Yeah I get that, but thats going to happen within 2 years anyway whether those servers are released or not since classic is a forever content drought
It is opinionated, which is why I’m saying that Blizzard should make their decision based on success.
My opinion is just making me pleading them to wait before they jump to conclusions.
I do point that out in the thread above.
Well if success is your basis, 12 million is a lot more than 7 million.
You’ve still not even made your case as to what the mistakes are. I have my own ideas in Wrath, but usually if you want to tell someone not to do something, the why is pretty important.
Classic increased the player count from 0 to around 8 million.
BC increased it further from 8 to around 11,5.
Wrath increased the numbers by around 500k to maybe close to a million.
Now think for a second.
I think the problem is you aren’t.
I mean the perception can be put that way sure. But just for arguments sake, what if 3 million of vanillas OG’s left relatively early in BC because of the features included in it that they didnt want or just the direction. That would mean the game grew 8 million+ going away from classics features and direction. Is there a way to prove that didnt happen?
Considering 100 million accounts have been made prior to WoD and the game peaked at 12 million I think its safe to say that there was a lot of new players taking up for players leaving.
There are many threads out there discussing the “mistakes” BC and Wrath did.
I’m certainly not surprised that you can’t see them yourself. I mean you were willing to pay for BfA and play it.
You don’t know good game design to begin with.
Maybe you will change your mind after you played Classic once it launches.
Just as I did after playing them all again.
I think what happened is you jumped on a bandwagon.
They werent asking for everyone elses reasons why, they were asking for yours.
This is and was definitely happening.
The difference is that new players didn’t last as long as they did before, due to the way the game was changed and made quicker to “play through”. The less people get involved into it, the less they get bound to it, the less they play it, the less they advert for it, the less people will start to play it…
the less people play it in the long run.
It really is, because most people that I’ve talked to about Classic servers that didn’t know about them asked about TBC/WotLK servers almost immediately after and were audibly disappointed to find out it’s just classic ATM.
And I’m positive that they will change their mind once they played classic.
Which is why I’m pleading for time before jumping to decisions.
This is why I’m asking to give Classic the benefit of the doubt.
Most people I talk to were retail vanilla players, so yeah, they just like TBC/WotLK more because they are better overall.
Im starting to become convinced that you didn’t even play it.
Jump to conclusions much? Having a 120 character doesn’t meant TBC isn’t my favorite expansion.
I’m curious about what your reasons are, not random other people had to say in the past.
For me personally, I don’t like the direction dungeon content moved in during WotLK, but I still wouldn’t advocate that people not have the ability to play that expansion if it were their favorite.
Most of us are here because we love the older style of World of Warcraft.
Thanks for your input, teacher.
I skimmed the guy’s post before posting, and I still think he was jumping the gun like all of these posts. And while I disagree with him that developing new content in the style of Classic would be better than moving on to TBC, my stance on this is always “whatever… as long as at least one pristine Classic server is left untouched.”
Don’t make their game. Just make mine.
Let’s make Classic a success before talking about this.
But, if TBC and WOTLK happen, please guys, ask Blizzard to don’t use the latest patch again…
There were huge changes/nerfs/catch-up during TBC and WOTLK that are clearly game breaker.
I would agree, and I hope that Blizzard has records of the various patches through these expansions.
Content developed in the style of Classic would fail horribly anyway because Blizzard’s not capable of understanding what made that design tick in the first place anymore.
…Plus it’d make Classic not Classic anymore.
