You want to be able to pick a plot anywhere, or at least at a significantly higher amount of valid spots, somewhere in the world where you don’t have other players around you. But can still decorate and have your own place to build and further store/show off your own stuff to yourself. This is because you use WoW as a form of escapism because you are unhappy in your own neighbourhood (by your own accounts) and would prefer to play the game and but to do your own stuff and be antisocial otherwise.
Did I get something wrong? Because if so, do let me know.
But if I didn’t, then yes - that is antithetical to playing MMOs.
Any myriad of points. Everything from being a Hearthstone for some, a home to others, roleplay for yet other people, a place to group up for a guild, a place to decorate in minute detail to be able to show off or to not, and any myriad of endless additional reasons.
You are assuming what I mean, what I want, and what I’m saying … and disregarding what I’m actually saying.
Everything you have said so far insinuates that you don’t want to play MMOs, but would rather play a single player game where maybe the NPCs you encounter are more randomized to do weird stuff around you at times.
Neighbourhoods are really good for the game because the number one issue with Garrisons was that they completely disconnected players from one and another, and that’s the reason why WoD felt so dead. Despite that when you actually went out and did activities in the open world, there were always tons of people there. Yet… it felt empty.
Just make use of the Garrisons if that’s the experience you want from the game (which it is judging by everything you have said so far, including in this response of yours as well).
As someone who lives nowhere, my word of advice is find a partner beforehand, because dating is a desert, and meeting someone online you will need to ask them to visit, which asking someone online to come to the middle of nowhere sounds like some cabin in the woods type stuff. If you plan on going solo until the end, go for it though.
I know it’s not related to player housing, just figured I would point out a common mistake I see people make before moving innawoods
I just hope we have a bit more variety in the future. I’m sure we will, the concept is still being fleshed out and it’s meant to be an evergreen feature. But it would be nice for reclusive types, like mage towers or druid treehouses or hunter shacks.
Even if there is a neighborhood for these, but much more spaced out or something.
Luckily for that poster he will be in luck after about 6 weeks when the “new shiny” wears off and the vast majority of neighborhoods become ghost towns.
Unfortunately we will all still be stuck with the downsides of neighborhoods, like being restricted to Orc/Human zones, but folks just wanting a zone by themselves that will be easy enough to come by.
