I wrote a script for how this conversation would’ve gone. Since you’re so wise would you give me notes on it please?
“HELLO GUILD. IT IS ME, THE SOOTHSAYER STYG. I HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE AND DETERMINED THAT HONOR RATES WILL BE SEVERELY REDUCED AND THAT FACTION BALANCE WILL SHIFT BY A LOT IN FAVOR OF THE HORDE. MY MIGHTY FUTURE SIGHT HAS SHOWN ME THAT OUR QUEUE TIMES WILL BE SEVERAL MAGNITUDES LONGER THAN THEY HAVE EVER BEEN IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME. THERE WILL BE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES SO WE MUST ABANDON EVERYTHING WE HAVE WORKED FOR IN THE LAST TWO YEARS AS IT IS THE ONLY POSSIBLY SOLUTION.”
Anyone with a brain knew that the meta would shift horde with TBC. You get to weigh the pros and cons yourself and decide what is more important to you in this game. Staying with your guild or rerolling alliance for instant queues.
Yeah… sure… We all knew that serious PVPers would favor horde racials.
We did not know that honor would be egregiously difficult to obtain due to poor rates and absurd que times. If ques were 20 minutes or less at all times I think most people would be content with that. The issue is that ques almost never go below 30 minutes and typically stay around 45 minutes.
Making obvious statements like, “you chose to play horde and should’ve thought about that,” simply do not work here. You can keep saying it, but it makes you look dumb.
I could’ve chosen to play alliance.
I could’ve chosen not to pvp.
I could’ve chosen not to play the game in general.
I could’ve chosen not to get internet at my home.
I could’ve chosen not to get a PC.
I could’ve chosen to never play games.
All of those statements are technically valid and would remove my dilemma, but they all fail to actually solve the problem.
In life you make choices, every choice you make has a consequence. You rolled Horde for the sweaty tryhard racials in pvp. You didn’t stop to consider maybe the better choice was Alliance for instant bg queues. That’s on you. Luckily choices aren’t permanent in wow, you are more than welcome to…reroll Alliance at anytime.
I’ve only ever played horde originally, but I knew queues would be bad so myself and friends discussed it, and decided on Alliance for quicker BG queues.
So it’s easy to assume you realized this would translate into queue times, right?
Considering that what we have now are honor rates true to the original TBC, conjoined with your first statement about about PvPers favoring horde, you literally should have realized queue times would be high
Who really looks dumb, when you spell the word ‘queue’ as the Spanish word for ‘what’?
You can look at my previous posts and see evidence that I know how to spell queue. Many players say “que” or “Q” as shorthand if you weren’t already aware.
Honor rates are not true to the patch that we’re in. You can google patch notes and watch videos from original TBC battlegrounds and see that to be true.
BG Q’s are all around 40 minutes right now, during the afternoon on NA. Not 10 minutes. It hasn’t gotten better at all despite the massive amounts of horde who’ve basically stopped PvP’ing after getting a taste of being able to play the game. I’d love to see the % of alliance Bg’s that are premades now. Got 50 honor in 1.5 hours the other day after back to back premades, which isn’t even uncommon anymore. I’ll just keep grinding and have my full set in about a year.
Choices including rolling on PvP servers even though everyone and their mother knew Horde was going to be the dominant faction on those servers?
And then the Alliance complained that they were getting ganked everywhere. Imagine my shock.
Why don’t you just reroll on PvE servers? For the exact reason Horde players aren’t going to reroll Alliance on PvP servers to keep them balanced. Some people like playing their characters, their community, and their faction. Nobody is going to spend days played levelling 1-70 so they can have faster queue times, especially if they’re casual players just looking to have a little fun in the evenings (which is why the queue timers are such an issue right now). It’s also why Horde hunt you down so much on the PvP servers; if you want honor, BG’s are behind a timewall. Killing you in the open world is not.
And what solutions do Alliance have to solve that issue? Look at the track record. You transfer to PvP servers that are already Alliance favoured. Seems smart, until you realize that Alliance players are the sole reason that the majority of PvP servers are Horde dominated now. I’ve seen this as early as P2 of classic, when my own server turned from around 50/50 to 70/30 Alliance. That server is now 100% Alliance. Alliance doesn’t want balanced servers. They never have. They don’t want Horde to have bearable queue timers either, you want the advantage. So stop with the platitudes. You don’t care about the game, balance, or QOL changes, unless its your life that is getting better.
Alliance should be scared. Now they can contend with Horde premades, which have never been possible because the queues have been so long since the moment BG’s were implemented. Enjoy.
On OCE alliance queue’s are almost instant pop at peak times.
I regularly see a couple of the same horde in consecutive bgs.
Just yesterday I saw the same horde shaman in 3 in a row.
Something doesn’t add up about the hordes complaints.
