sub layers are a terrible idea for the game, areas are empty. world pvp is dead. joining a raid group for half of the party to get layered off into a different version of the same layer is a terrible terrible thing to experience, blizzard please fix
The only areas that would be “dead” are probably the 45-60 level zones
The focus right now should be on levelling, if it hurts wpvp then so be it. Right now levelling feels pretty good, this is a new experience for me because I’ve never been on a PvP server that was pretty much 50-50 so its nice to see a bunch of Alliance and Horde doing their thing
we had an organized pvp event all on the same layer and not one group saw combat, “if it hurts wpvp then so bit” is such a bad take to have ON A PVP server
keep layers as is
i enjoy them. they are a quality of life improvement for me
pls kill me
Yep. I noticed this and went back to SoD. Not about to get layered/sharded to the point where an MMO feels like a single player game
What are sub layers? I have not seen or heard of this previously.
I’d love to see more layers in places like Redridge or STV. It’s impossible to quest in either spot. Where are you guys seeing dead zones? If it’s higher ones I don’t think most players are at that level yet.
Maybe it’s a PVE server vs PVP server thing and most players are leveling in dungeons on PVP servers?
I got layered or sharded in to a dead zone around UC. My guess is it did become overpopulated at some point and they started a new shard or layer in that zone. I remember walking in to UC itself and thinking… is my interface not loading?
But I don’t know for sure. This “new” system they are testing is still a little bit of a mystery to me
let’s not overexaggerate
there are tons of both alliance and horde in every zone. the issue is you can’t really coordinate anything on a large scale because there’s no way to guarantee everyone is on the same layer.
Guess I’ll need to take a picture next time.
I remember in UC it wasn’t like this. I’m not saying it happens every single time
when everyone is on layer1 but only two groups can see eachother when being told to be in the same spot that is not overexaggerating
yes I agree that’s awful ![]()
Let’s stop calling it sub layers, and just call it sharding, because functionally that’s what it is.
What are you even talking about? Have you tried to quest anywhere in Arathi or STV? Every mob has 2 people on them at any time.
Completely agree, this does not feel like an MMO, it feels like a single player game where I occasionally see 5-10 people.
The layers in anniversary are the worst i’ve ever seen, at this point it’s either play on whitemane or play on non blizz servers because they seem to only want to cater to the pvers.
People will complain about mob tagging like lol.
The game just doesn’t feel like classic wow when there’s no one around everywhere you go
It’s not always bad but I can already see it now… once the fresh classic hyper wears off, yeah micro sharding will not be good for world exploration
i dont get why they layered main cities so bad like there’s only 10 of us in org? lol
lol right like org can’t handle it??? I think it can…
