Vers amps was the only hope to live vs mage lock on ladder. nerf mage lock damage if youre gonna nerf vers amps. this is so unfair
What makes it ever worse is locks are literal tanks and they dont even STACK VERS they go for HASTE/MASTERY AMPS (WHICH ARE OFC UNTOUCHED LMAO). Who is the person making these changes? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SURVIVE A TANK CHAOS BOLT MACHINE GUN LOCK NOW ? HOW MAN HOW ??? BLIZZARD WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ARENA ?
ON TOP OF THAT I SPENT SO MUCH TIME FARMING ECHOS ON BUYING VERS AMPS AND NOW THEY’RE NERFED??? WHY DO YOU DO THIS ??? JUST WHY I DONT UDNERSTAND ?? WHAT A JOKE OF A GAME.
The reaping change is really good tho im glad they finally fixed that now unholy dk’s can play.

As someone who has been maining a demonology warlock, i can tell you we get tankyness because we lack mobility, we lack mobility so badly we are a poor choice for mythic plus dungeons. Almost every other caster is prefered in the mythic plus community sadly. While we get to be tanky and dish out similar damage to mages, our lack of mobility puts a damper on our damage and our survability of getting out of mechanics.

Someone just got faced in world pvp.
Fire mage has amazing burst. 10 seconds of guaranteed crits every 2 minutes. Unless you’re against a priest, shaman, DH, or another mage, who can dispel/purge/steal your combustion.
After that they tickle you with 12k scorches. Scary.

Yeah but in this case they are referring to arenas, which is dominated by dest locks and fire mages by a significant amount.

More like those are the only ranged classes (specs, really) that are even competitive for that sort of play, the rest is a sea of melee.

No, arena right now isn’t a sea of melee unless its the lower ratings pretty sure. Mage/lock is broken and as op stated vers amp was the only thing really helping to defend against it.

Don’t specifically farm for things when it should be common knowledge Blizzard has a tendency of making big sweeping nerfs and such to things. It’ll just feel bad after as it does for you now.
Echo’s were just to supplement acquisition, not so that you can be a masochist about it and ruin the game for yourself.
Two of the top ten 3v3 ranked players are either destro or fire; one of each. The rest? 4 Monks, a shamans, a paladin, a warrior, and surprisingly a balance druid.
Scroll through the top 50 and the representation is the same - if they were dominating there would be more of them.
The funny thing here is that mage mobility is mostly useless since they’re still turret casters due to rop being the defacto requirement. To add insult to injury, mage mobility is getting nerfed in next expac. Mage trying to dps on the move is a joke. If they wanna turn mage into loc, fine. Give mage a hp boost to match and a tank pet pls. I’d take that over a completely pointless bit of mobility any day.
And rune of power sucks…
When you base specs around a short big burst damage CD (see Combustion & Arcane power), you shouldn’t be surprised when everyone takes the ability for a short big increase intellect CD (see rune of power).
Literally only frost can make the other options work.
They really need to either delete rop and replace it with something far more mobile or buff the other talents on the row by like 200%. Cause right now, the moment you see mage cast rop, it’s a giant target to gank em or make them move (incredibly easy to do) and then poof there goes the cd and it’s game over mage you ded, buh bye.
