I think it’s pretty important that Blizzard doesn’t rush phases.
I’ll be disappointed if phase 2 isn’t at least three months away.
Rush to the end and raid or die was what caused the decline of retail. It’s important that we don’t pander to that mentality and move ahead before the average player (ie – people who don’t play 18 hours per day, stay online by getting people to press the space bar, exploit layering for rep etc – not saying any of that was illegal, but it speaks of how desperate these guys are to rush) has had a crack.
It honestly might need to be even faster. Herod (most popular realm) is feeling a little less active already even though it’s Saturday. Took me long time to get into a SFK group. I feel like that Rag kill really did numbers on the playerbase.
“at least three months” between phases huh? Right, let’s see, that’s 6 months of MC and 6 months of BWL. If your goal is to kill classic, this is an excellent plan.
Anything faster than that is a bit ridiculous for raid content. You need to give the playerbase time to digest the content, and more than just the hardcore players.
Phases should match the timing of Vanilla, or at least be close. Don’t want to wait? Tough- waiting was part of Vanilla. If people can’t stick around a few months between major releases, they can’t handle vanilla.
Raiders will never be satisfied. They are in game only to chew through “content.” When they are finished they complain or leave looking for something else. Meanwhile most of the player base is content to enjoy the pace and breadth of what WoW Classic has to offer us. I agree with the OP, let the raiders move on and leave the game to the rest of us.
when i buy a 60 dollar game, i expect it to last me around 2 weeks. wow classic is a 15 dollar game so I’d like to see the phases released every 3-4 days.
