Please do not remove Nat Pagle

I understand removing most NPCs named after real people, but Nat is literally a cornerstone of WoW fishing and without him, nothing seems quite right anymore. I look forward to running into Nat every single expansion, and I’m sad when I don’t. Please leave him alone.

Why would he get removed?

He’s named after Pat Nagle, the original WoW Game Designer.

Okay…? And?

And there’s been a big stink lately about removing characters named after real people, particularly Blizzard employees. Blizzard has been combing through NPCs to eliminate any references to real life people. I don’t want them to ruin the feel of the game with their reckless alterations. Nat is a bridge too far.

No… there’s been reason to remove names of NPCs that are listed in the sexual harassment lawsuit, because Blizz decided some of them needed changed due to the spitting and negativity they carry.

Last time I checked, Pat wasn’t listed. So unless he comes up, I fail to see why they’d address this at all. And if he does come up, it’s warranted.

Am I reading these wrong?

Cancel everything I guess.

This bs is getting out of hand.

Well, considering it looks like you didn’t read them past the title, yes.

That makes me feel better. I thought Metzen the reindeer was gone, and Nat, and all the NPCs I know and love that were named after devs.

It’s a relief to know that I was wrong and that these NPCs will be preserved since their real life counterparts did not engage in wrongdoing.

Thank you for clarifying this for me, Rhielle. I no longer have a grievance.

I know it sucks, I do get it. Even after what happened, it’s weird to hear Stonebridge yelling in Stormwind. And I’m still pissed about Kael’s voice. So I understand the sentiment, don’t get me wrong.

Please! it may be boring for the ‘young’… go watch 1984, the movie, could eve read the book. This is the age of ‘1984’ where YOU can be erased. Just because the ‘powerful’ regardless of the truth can erase you in a second.

What if someone hate’s your voice? Do you get erased? Or you yelled, you get erased? Wake up, everyone gets a voice and presence, just walk away, don’t watch, don’t listen. That is your ‘say’. NO one gets to silence. Well there is tyranny to force you now? Do people really want that? I am not a narcissist or psychopath, so I don’t want that. How about you? Just a question.

People don’t work that way, as evident by the /spit being removed from Classic and the fact that it was also being done to the now Stonebridge NPC.

When a company has rules against such behavior, they absolutely have the right to do it.

The world isn’t black and white.

Erasing references in a video game is not even remotely like 1984. Have you even read the book?

NO that is tyranny. It is against all ‘natural law’. So no, if you abide by that you are the problem.

Have you EVEN watched the movie? Have you. Yes it is. the main character erases from media all ‘presence’ of the person who did wrong.

Just to pick a random name from the conversation, go google Jesse Mccree, and if you come up with zero hits mentioning the name then you’ll have a point

Yeah and the movie and book suck. What’s your point?

Agreed, Shreds. I’d also like to say that I hope Blizzard never removes the Make A Wish quest, Kyle the Frenzied in Mulgore.

Why they would, Idk. I haven’t heard they will or anything like that, was just thinking that if they go on a tear and start removing npc’s named after real people that Kyle the Frenzied quest could be removed/changed too and that’d be really sad.
