Racials in WotLK should not be changed. Balance changes to core gameplay mechanics have no place in classic.
Disabling racials is also a bad idea because it removes many interesting and iconic gameplay interactions. For example War Stomp → Hex combo for Tauren shamans or Shadowmelding to avoid casts for night elves. Race choice can also provide flavour for certain comps. For example playing a night elf rogue in Rogue Mage 2v2 can open up new tactics due to having an extra ‘vanish’ through shadowmeld.
Why is there no talk about balancing racials for PvE content? Troll and orc racials on the horde are insanely strong compared to alliance racials. Even in tbc, many hardcore raiders swapped from alliance to horde just for the racials. I’m not advocating for balancing racials for PvE, but the outcry if they were would be humongous.
Horde have had ridiculously strong racials for pvp compared to alliance for two expansions now. To try and rebalance racials now that alliance get one racial that is strong (only in the last 2 seasons) is hilariously biased… especially considering that the human racial isn’t nearly as strong as the undead racial is in TBC. Additionally, horde racials are actually superior to alliance for pvp in the early phases of the WotLK.
A large part of WoW is preparing and building on your characters for upcoming phases. Many people have been pre-levelling characters to prepare for certain racial abilities. If racials are changed and those characters that people pre-levelled are no longer ideal and there is no faction/race change option, the those players have essentially wasted all that time on those characters.
Blizzard’s current justification that faction/race change will ruin the “role-playing” aspect of the game is completely unfounded. At this stage in classic wow, the portion of people that play solely for the fantasy, role playing element is a tiny minority. How can Blizzard use this argument while simultaneously offering paid level boosts and cosmetic items that can be purchased for real life money?
Race/faction change is a win for EVERYBODY. Blizzard gets more revenue and players can play the game how they want to.
In conclusion, if blizzard changes racials and does not offer race/faction change then players’ time and effort in their characters is at the whim of the balance team. This lack of control will create a lot of resentment for players… and simply disabling racials will remove many interesting and iconic gameplay interactions
They didn’t rebalance for classic. They didn’t rebalance for crusade. It would be silly to now rebalance for wrath, the game that is already more balanced than the others.
You do realize they already changed paladins so that Seal of Blood is on both factions, yes? Among a handful of other balance changes like this to prevent people from feeling like they NEED to roll a specific race/faction just to play well.
Wrath, vanilla, and som1 are already some of the best balanced versions of classic and trying to change is a bad idea. There is no point in balancing wrath as one balanced tbc paladins as wrath is already balanced or as balanced as one can get in an mmo.
Because they’ve bought the hype that EMFH will get them an automatic 2k rating in arena. Silly humans, you will remain losers even with EMFH. y o u lo se
On a more serious note, you can remove the opness of EMFH without having to remove or change racials. Just do it like they do on private servers.
1.- Reduce resil on pvp gear by half.
2.- Add a 2 piece bonus to pvp trinkets that increases resil by 100%.
You solve two birds with one stone, EMFH and using silly pve trinkets like DBW in pvp.
While it’s an interesting way of addressing the issue, it’s actually more damaging to Human’s than removing everyone’s racials in arena, since EMFH would be useless in this scenario, and everyone else still has their racials.

BS post. You aren’t going to play other games if you are spending that much time on a character for a racial. This is a balance thing like The Paladin seals were at the start of TBC Classic. They changed those.
