Please Devs, Enough is Enough

What is happening to this game? We went from being Champions and defeating GODS!! And now we are LITERALLY taking pictures of bugs in hats! For the campaign??? This should have been at the very most some side quest. This is not the only quest of this kind. I’m ready to buy a can of RAID (double meaning intended) and deal with the queen bee once and for all.
I am a casual player. I don’t raid outside the required ones, and I don’t really PvP. But what made this game great, for me at least, was an intriguing storyline that was epic. This God went rebellious, this faction did some real dirty stuff and we gotta fix it. WE SET UP INVASION ENCAMPMENTS AND RAN THEM! (Garrisons). And now we are entomologists?

No offense at all intended, but maybe, after Midnight, you could release a completely dark and evil and intense and dramatic and exciting and daring and controversial theme, with backstabbing, epic fights, you know, the stuff it USED to be? That when you were done, you actually felt what you did mattered?
I dunno, maybe it’s just me. But it just seems somewhere, somehow, for some reason, the game is changing in a most bizarre and unfamiliar way.
This is just my opinion, and I offer it as respectfully and humbly as I can.

Thank you in advance for not tarring and feathering me.

For merchandising! The eco dome needs to be profitable to continue expanding.

In the timeline of events, you just defeated the void being that was going to consume Azeroth.

We have those grand adventures. We also have the small ones.

Also, the study of words is etymology. The study of insects is entomology. The study of bees is melittology, and the study of honey bees in particular is apiology.

Hi, welcome to WoW. Where you went from stopping a void-infused Neltharion from literally ripping the planet apart to getting mobbed by two orc peons in Pandaria, or from overcoming two titans and foilling Sargeras himself to being arrested by two kul tiran police. MMo logic.

Yeah that was never a thing. The plot was never dark, intense, or controversial. It’s written for the average wow player who will only notice the plot happening in voiced conversations that they cannot skip.

Thank you for the clarification. Fixed it. Dumb autocorrect. Meant entomologist to start with.

  1. I was saving bunnies and squirrels from a fire in Cata, while bouncing baby bears off of a trampoline.
  2. The main campaign was finished before we picked up the quest for the eco-dome. My achievements and campsite screen tell me so.

There is a campaign quest in Ka’resh where you have to pick up crap, I approached it, turned around and abandoned the quests. I have no patience for such things. One would think the the devs would have a better idea of what their player base would enjoy after 21 years. Do I really want constant stupid cosmetics that I’ll never use, such as a candle helmet or a mushroom, no. Adding constant new islands to the map makes azeroth look stupid, as if over the entire span of the world’s life no one has fully explored the world yet. Why not do what they did for the burning crusade and draenor? Make a portal to another place that isn’t in Azeroth.

There is not a chance in hell you can compare a soul being ripped out and enslaved to do all kinds of unspeakable things, sending hordes of undead controlled by a single mind, the total mana-nuking of an entire city by stealth, the burning alive of what, thousands or whatever number you wanna use, as they jumped, while on fire mind you, out of their burning tree…You cannot compare the past of not just the story, but franchise theme in times past, with whatever the hell is happening in this expansion now. I still stand by my statement.

We literally had this again with Anduin. But people dont like the aftermath of it.

So are you not familiar with having to dig through poop for quests for the first 5 or 6 expansions?

There’s always been silliness in the game. It hasn’t changed.

I think we need to go back to the WC RTS games as a structure for the worth of our characters. In the RTS games you start off as a low level soldier and work your way through the ranks essentially becoming a top tier general. Even the NPC heroes fall under your command. This is the level of respect that I feel we deserve. We should be making war room decisions and leading armies into battle.

In WoW cut scenes our characters are literally background filler as new NPCs like Faerin hog our glory. Why is Faerin commanding us to do anything! She is bottom ring NPC hasn’t earned crap. We shouldn’t be doing basic chores a low ranked soldier would do.

The opening to WoD has you dig through pewp to get dudes key, dunnit?

They call that RBG Blitz these days

A story where people get hurt is not inherently dark or serious. WoW does not, and never has, attempted to maintain a serious tone for longer than 15 minutes. You get the occasional dark joke or character death, but the narrative will then pivot to meta jokes or generally being a cartoon. It’s a T rated game, and probably could’ve been E10+.

Again… I was saving bunnies and squirrels from a fire, bouncing baby bears off a trampoline, hooking up with Budd to make a “manataur” to escape Tol’vir, scooping poo for many expansions and taking photos of stuff for explorers for the past three years.

So I don’t know what you’re so upset about.

That was awesome. The first time I did that quest I laughed my butt off.

We’ve replaced Cool, Interesting and Good characters and story with absolute slop and pushing narratives for the sake of a narrative.
It’s bad. Really bad.

The old devs would and did.
This new bunch… they just don’t have it.

“LOOK AT ME! I’M A MANATAUR!!”

“Shut up, Budd!”

You don’t end up having to do that…

Ve’nari’s assistant runs up and apologizes to your character before you actually start that one; then you move on to the bees.

Though when I first saw that quest I was thinking “Oh, THERE it is…”
