This is literally never going to happen. Ever. Ever ever. Two weeks? You want a full release delay TWO WEEKS before it launches? That will never happen, not for a live service game, a movie, or anything. That’s insanely comical to think any company would. Their stock would plummet, their fans would be in an uproar, and they would be the laughing stock of the industry with so much loss of confidence it’d be difficult to recover. They’d get less scorn releasing the expansion and patching it than delaying it two weeks before release.
You say the bugs are getting fixxed but rogues have had the same stealth bug since ateast S4 SL with no acknowledgement from Blizzard. You cant say the bugs are getting fixxed because you dont know if the bugs are indeed getting fixxed.
Yes I am salty about rogues getting ran into the ground and the stealth bug persisting for so long with no fix in sight. Also mounting from stealth bugs out flying which is another rogue/stealth class bug that has not seen any acknowledgement from Blizzard.
Blizzard workers literally formed a Union like 2 weeks ago. They’re definitely not overworked.
Little too late. If they delayed for a month, the shareholders will be very angry.
I already have my PTO scheduled! Full steam ahead!
We don’t know that.
Pass. I want to get TWW over with so we can get on to Midnight
At this point that we are at, I’d be a bit disappointed if they moved the release date.
In various interviews they stated that they have different groups of people working on different expansions and that sometime after an expansion goes live, they transition over responsibilities to the live service team. I don’t work there, so I can’t say for sure what’s going on. But, evidence does seem to backup an inconsistency in content quality and philosophy that can be explained by different teams trying to coordinate and deliver.
naw, no thanks.
Mole people wildin out in here
I literally can say that, because Blizzard has been pumping out fixes for bugs constantly, along with notes explaining which bugs got fixed.
Just because the bug you ‘wanted’ to be fixed hasn’t been fixed yet (probably because it’s difficult to replicate or fixing that bug causes more serious issues with something else, which are the two main reasons why bugs don’t get fixed) doesn’t mean they’re not fixing them.
The thing is, once upon a time, the Blizzard philosophy was not to release until they were done, if it isn’t finished quite yet, or if it still needs polishing. They would hold back the release until they believed the game was ready. Were all the bugs caught? Not necessarily, however they were quick to respond to reports or complaints. Also, they never announced an exact release date, only the date they were shooting for.
Now. With all the shake ups and changing of hands and controversy Blizzard has experienced in the previous few years, the loss of some amazing developers, a total lack of leadership and direction, and just plain burnout, Blizzard just can’t communicate either internally or with their player base. I give them credit for trying, and it’s obvious they do still have great coders and world builders (though they need to find better storytellers). Just look at Remix, Season of Discovery, Hardcore and yes, even Plunderstorm.
Also, traditionally, WoW releases were generally given for the last half of November, to coincide with the Christmas holidays.
And, finally, it’s very obvious the game will not be ready to ship in two weeks, yet they will do it anyway. You are correct in saying the shareholders wouldn’t be happy if they delay, and yes, there will be plenty of pissed off players as well. But you watch. A week after release, these forums, the ones on Reddit and X, and others will be swamped with people crying out they feel ripped off the game is broken, and why, oh why! didn’t they delay it until it was ready and polished?
Do you see my point now?
Maybe i took your post wrong as in ALL the bugs will be fixxed, my bad on that. I now assume you believe they wont fix all the bugs.
“My” stealth bug can be replicated at a 100% rate on any training dummy. The same goes with the stealth to mounting bug. Just saying.
I think you cant rely on Blizzard to fix all the bugs and I have good reason to think this way. Due to incompetence, ignoring the players reporting, laziness, or just dont have enough time, which falls under incompetence.
Idk. With how fast they’ve been addressing AND fixing the prepatch issues, I feel like that is a good indication on what to expect going into TWW.
If the bugs do remain, I feel like they will be worked on quite quickly.
(And tbh prepatch is a good time to address and fix bugs on a far bigger scale than the beta allows)
This is where I’m at. I really do think they’re rushing things too much and I get the feeling there’s going to be a lot of bugged stuff… But I’ve put in for my usual expansion time off and it was a HUGE hassle to change it the one time they changed their minds last minute. (Honestly, I wouldn’t have been able to change it were I not THE most senior employee at my office and I get a lot of leeway because of that…)
Blizzard has already addressed a lot of bugs in the pre-patch and outside of some annoyances caused by scaling, things have been pretty smooth for me and I’ve been putting in many, many hours since the 23rd.
Even though I don’t want to spoil things for myself too much, I tried enough on beta recently to see that it’s running a lot better than it was even just a week ago.
The chances that they delay the release is slim and none.
Not happening.
You realize that’s never going to happen, yeah?
Ive gone off the rails here ill admit. Still have little faith in Blizzard. My problem
Just wanting to hear feedback from those who start early to see what is broke and what is working. Got nothing to do with trolling. Your trying to start something that isn’t there.
