I think the amount of trash in dungeons needs to be severely reduced in SL content. Its very important for dungeons npcs to practice social distancing.
Something, something, something time-played metrics. Something, something, something complete.
I wouldn’t mind a good amount of trash, if they ever actually had a chance of dropping something good, but we all know they’ll drop worthless greens and grey items, nothing else.
I hear SL dungeons have a lot less trash than BFA.
When there was no trash like in ToC, people hated it. Damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
I’m assuming that’s already the plan, since they put a cap on aoe.
Nazjatar was horrible!
They whaaaat?!?
They should design dungeons like the revamped ZG in 4.1. Interesting trash but not a ton of it.
Yeah, it’s one of the first changes they announced for SL. There’s a cap to how many mobs can take aoe dmg at one time.
I remember in Wotlk all people talked about was wanting more trash in dungeons and having to do careful pulls with CC, so that’s what they did in Cata. So many tears…
Sounds like an unnecessary change!
There are reasoning behind that?
I believe it’s to slow down M+ runs and prevent players from pulling half a dungeon. Don’t quote me on that tho.
To me the best move would be to reduce trash by ~30% and remove skips. Some trash is necessary to pace the dungeon, but too much just makes players want to take stilted “shortcuts” that end up wiping the party half the time anyways.
Haha yeah that was hilarious. They made dungeons harder because everyone was crying how easy the WOTLK dungeons were and then it turned out you can’t have dungeons be very challenging if you’re going to have groups put together with the dungeon finder.
No they didn’t.
When Trial of the Crusader was current, did you ever, ever, EVER zone in and have somebody say, “Gee, you know what would make this a lot more fun? If this place had a ton of trash.”
No but I recall people crapping on TOC (both the 5-man and raid) because there was no trash.
ToC had a lot of problems, from how it squeezed Ulduar’s lifespawn to its ridiculously complicated tier gearing system, but people have a bad habit of looking back on it and saying “Oh, it was because it had no trash that people disliked it” when that wasn’t the case.
Also, the 5-man DID have trash, so I don’t even know what you’re talking about.
Reduces AOE skills to 5-8 targets
Adds MORE trash to M+ because esports
+++++++increased time played
What trash did it have? The joust? You zoned in and fought the champions in a joust, then fought them on foot (Boss #1) then either Paletress or Eadric (Boss #2) and then Black Knight (Boss #3). There was no trash in between them.
And in any event I definitely recall people saying how terrible it was because it was basically a boss rush.
ToC was hated because it was a bunch of irrelevant and uninteresting fights all in one room. It had nothing to do with the lack of trash. That said, I still like to have SOME trash. Just not as much as now.
