Please De-Nerd "Error #132, Fatal Error"

Hi! I have been having some severe problems with WoW crashing since 8.3 launched on Jan 14.

I also have the DxDiag saved, but can’t figure out how to upload. If you would like me to copy and paste, please let me know and I will do that.

If someone can de-nerd the errors for me, and just tell me how to fix it, that would be lovely, as I have lost 2 Vessels of Horrific Vision yesterday alone, and am getting super irritated by the constant disconnects/crashes.

TIA

Hi, I was wondering if you have windows 10? I’ve been having issues and it has intensified in the last three days. Did you ever get any response? I’ve tried everything that is mentioned in the error article and even what I could find online.

Thanks!

My laptop came with W10, but I haven’t had THIS many crashes since I got it. It’s only been since 8.3 launched that it’s been several times a day. Like, I just crashed for the second time in an hour.

And, by the lack of other comments, no, I haven’t received a response. Sorry.

Hi Squeaktoy

Let’s take a look at this error. Navigate to the main Wow folder > retail folder. Inside is the Errors folder. Open that folder and the error files themselves will be inside. Right click the most recent file then use notepad to open.

That will be a long wall of text - we need to see it all. You will need to put it in Code Blocks to paste on the forum here.

To do that paste the report in a chat box. Then right click > “select all” - should highlight everything. Once highlighted click on the little </> symbol on the bar above the chat box.

Alternately you can paste the entire error on pastebin.com then provide the end code portion of the URL - example below.

(The green bold portion at the end of the link: https://pastebin.com/Qk28Ed1P) <---- this code

Wouldn’t let me post just the code, said I needed 2 more characters.

Hi Squeaktoy

Looks like the Discord overlay may be involved here. Often causes game issues. Open Discord user settings - gear symbol lower left corner. Go to Overlay use the slide switch to disable. Switch button should be in left position for disabled

Nvidia Geforce Shadowplay is suspect as well here. Disable that.

I stopped using Discord overlay. And I can look into the Shadowplay.

EDIT

So, bad news bears. I didn’t even have the GE Force Experience installed. I did re-install it, to update a driver, but I can’t find a Shadowplay anything anywhere *TO disable.

Go ahead and test with the Discord disabled. See how things work.

I haven’t had the Discord Overlay enabled since before Christmas.

All the crashes started the day 8.3 launched. :frowning:

Ahh - you gave me an Error report from October. Trying to trick the old troubleshooter :stuck_out_tongue: - find a more recent one.

Sorry, didn’t realize that one was from October. =/ My bad.

They were organized funny. I had to sort by date modified. This one is from today.

I HAVE disabled and deleted a bunch of module folders in the add-ons that I don’t use, or haven’t seen used in the addon itself. Hoping that will help.

If you wanna double check, though, that’s be lovely.

Looks like this may be graphics related. Let’s reinstall there. Looks like this is a notebook. Let’s start with a DXDiag report. You can pastebin that as well - long wall of text.

The second section of page has DXDiag report instructions - we don’t require the MSinfo report.

Also give me the model number of the notebook - should be on a sticker somewhere.

baZQKzH8

I think the model number is in there somewhere. If not, P69F.

Well right off the top the first thing that needs updating is Windows. You are a major update behind running the Redstone 5 Windows from 2018. Let’s get Windows right up to date then see where we stand. Will take awhile - I’ll be around for a few hours. Working on a Classic character.

Type Update in the windows search box. Click on Check for Updates. The next screen that opens will be the update pane. It will likely say “You’re up to date”. Ignore that untruth then click the button below labeled - Check for Updates

Now be warned that will start updating everything. It will take some time. Once it is done continue to click the button until you truly have no updates.

Note - The 19H1 update is on a staggered release. It is possible it may not be available to your machine as yet. If that is the case we will download then install.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

update is at top of page - November 2019 update

I know I am a bit behind, but every time I try to update windows, it tells me it can’t connect, and I can’t find where to download it from the microsoft site anymore. The auto system hasn’t worked since about a week after I got the computer, and Dell refuses to help me with it . Especially now that my warranty is over lol. I am currently playing with my wife and a couple of friends, but I will try to get it started just before I go to bed, and post and update tomorrow when I get up.

Thank you.

Just go to that link that I put up and update from there Squeaktoy. I’ll watch this thread tomorrow.

Okay. Thank you so much! I may have done an oops and started it right now heh…

When Windows is all done - click the Update button on the Windows update pane. May be more small updates. Click it until it says you have none.

After that install this Intel Graphics driver from Dell:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/ca/en/cabsdt1/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=m6pdw&oscode=wt64a&productcode=alienware-15-laptop

A thought came to mind. Once Windows is all installed create a restore point <— type that in Windows search box . Then install the Intel driver.

I spent the early afternoon (after I got up) installing updates and such. Then I had to work, and I am just getting home and settled into WoW.

I followed all the directions, and currently don’t seem to be having any problems. If I do, I will post a new thread, or bump this one (depending on how long it takes).

Thank you, Tratt, so much for the help :3

Good to see Squeaktoy. When you get a chance can you create a new fresh DXDiag report. I will check it over.
