Since Alliance got the rip-off model from Blood Elves with their Void Elves (Then complained until they got features to look almost just like them and propel forth on a pedestal declaring they’re a ‘High Elf’) — I don’t see why not Horde can’t do it; so long as they have the deathly features DKs do (Sullen eyes or cheek bones / grey skin etc).
It’s done super well. A lot of the other one’s aren’t as good. Like Kul Tiran males are rejiggered Panadas. Which makes sense them having bellies and all.
But the whole void elf blood elf one is still the worst.
But it also makes sense you use what you have before making a whole new rig. It’s hard to do in a myriad of ways so I don’t blame them.
Id just like to see Forsaken be able to stand up straight.
Undead doesn’t mean scholiosis.
I can get behind your idea also.
This actuy isn’t true. KT started with the Panda rig, but they were given unique rigs later. It’s why it took so long for them and Zanda to be released.
I also can’t find anywhere that says orcs change rigs when you make them upright. Everything I’m seeing says it’s the same rig that orcs always had, just… straightened.
Their racials.
OP, you might get close to your wish if they do lightforged Undead. I believe in China they didn’t allow for the rotted look of Forsaken, so their models don’t have the bones.
I support Human model in Forsaken, but let’s be serious here, Horde got an Alliance model there.
And if we say they made Nightborne different, then it’s worse because you’d get a modified Alliance race, not a copy paste. It’d not be equal pay at all. Adding Human Forsaken would be break this equality with mixed models, by far.
But I’m not against more customization.
The easier fix is just giving Forsaken an upright posture option ala Orcs. You already have a no bones body type and with an upright posture you would more accurately mimic a “human” look.
I’d like an upright posture option for Trolls and Tauren as well. For those that say Tauren are already upright, we’re not, our heads could be move up some and our chest sinks into our stomach as if we’re hunched over. Not as noticeable as other races but it’s there.
I mean the lore dictates for nathanos to look like he did he had to sacrifice a blood relative. Unless ret-conned or another path is found I doubt this will ever be a thing sadly and if is it would be great but how would you make it fair as the alliance got a copy paste of the hordes most popular race, while we got a modified and not so similar looking night elf. The males look like evil scientists and the females look puffed with pride and “wealth mannerisms”. Nothing like the night elves at all.
Well, the Forsaken are humans, after all. The Lore once flirted with the idea that Blood-spec Death Knights actually might be able to restore their bodies, and it spawned a few theories if it could be the key to “curing undeath” in some capacity. Obviously that never went anywhere, but the point stands that Blood DK’s actively regenerate their bodies.
I suppose to “make things fair”, I guess “Human DK’s” could maybe get the option to use the “Undead” model as well? Since they are, in fact… undead.
I don’t think anybody is really ASKING for that, but fair’s fair I guess.
It would make sense since they are technically lordaeron humans.
I personally think that image is really cool, but that model belongs to the Alliance.
But as mentioned you’ll be able to play with your friends soon enough anyhow.
Well, my concern is Blizzard seems SO tentative about cross-faction gameplay, I feel like it’s going to be quite a while. I’d kill to be able to run Mythic+'s with my friends now, but if it means going to that Forsaken model, that would kill a lot of the fun. Hopefully we eventually reach a point that’s allowed, though.
I just figured, since Undead are literally “undead humans”, and Human DK’s are also “undead humans”, it doesn’t seem like THAT big a leap to just let them look the same.
I’m throwing my hands up in defeat at this point, to be honest. I think fighting to preserve racially-locked skeletons is a losing battle. It started with the nightborne/void elf flip-flop. Female dracthyr are effectively giving human female skeletons to the Horde. I’m not sure any of it really matters any more.
The lore doesn’t dictate it, since Sylvanas had to sacrifice or use several Valkyr to have Nathanos how he is. Why? No idea. Makes no sense that fully fresh Humans turn into rotten Forsaken, but it is the lore.
Yes, male Nightborne are a bit too skinny, but they are Night Elves. They have their animations and a different rig. If we go by getting the other faction’s race, the Horde got an Alliance model, one that many were asking for in Legion, from both sides, and caused a massive uproar when they went Horde.
The very Horde players were even making fun of Alliance for wanting the Nightborne. So, not that bad they were back then. THough if they looked like the Suramar model from the start, it’d have been better, but it is an Alliance race with a twist, like Void Elves being Belves with a twist (until they started adding HE silliness to them). Getting two Alliance races would not be equal pay.
Can happen? Sure, I’d not say no, but not equality.
Tbh the alliance want everything. The alliance were upset Highmountain tauren went with horde after alliance players helped them in their zone, Alliance players wanted the light forged draenei and nightborne, the only ones they didn’t ask for was void elves but now thye love them as they have blood elf customizations attached to them. In BFA Alliance wanted Zandalari trolls instead of fat humans, Alliance wanted Vulpera and the snake people. The alliance wants a lot of things, they are the greediest faction / unhappiest cause nothing can sate them. Give them high elves and paladins and they still will find something else they want and complain on the forums about while crying horde favoritsm.
I was here all Legion and BFA and I never, ever saw one single thread of Alliance wanting Tauren and Zandalari Trolls.
I saw some wanting Vulpera and Nightborne. Nightborne is logical because they are Night Elves. You’d have to show me a thread, because if something I’ve learned in here, is that many things people say here is false information they probably saw someone say and jumped on the bandwagon.
To put an example, there was this trend of Horde players saying Baine was removed from Highmountain because Alliance complained they had to work with the Horde. And how Horde was so poor they had to work with Tyrande. This was repeated by every single Horde player in these threads.
Until I google and notice that Alliance never was going to work with Baine, they were going to work with Brann.
And like that, many thing is just false propaganda.
The zandalari had a couple threads years back, but they didnt really gain any momentum. The high mountain tauren was more of a butthurt thread than anything else “Why did we have to help the HMT if they were going to join the horde in the first place?!”. Vulpera had multiple threads of rage that it went Horde. Nightborne had several but not as many as Vulpera.
Well, I can believe these one or two of these threads existed. I saw some with the LFD Draenei too. Makes no sense that the people you help turn against you, but hoping Zandalari or HM join the Alliance makes no sense. These are Troll and Tauren.
But I doubt there were many, I’d have seen. Not saying I am omnipresent, but I didn’t see. I did read many of the Nightborne, though. Lots of them.
There was a point in BFA where alliance was asking for normal tauren since the horde was constantly hating on Baine for “betraying the horde repeatedly”. They were willing to trade worgen for tauren which was fun and a great idea in my opinion even though it would never happen in the lore.
I mean sure why not. Half the people who post here seem to want all uniqueness stripped from the game, completely and entirely! May as well go full steam ahead on ruining everything. Keep copy-pasting models for both sides, make sure everyone can wear every armor type, and wield every weapon type too. We’re going so deep we may as well get rid of classes entirely and just let people pick and choose what spells they wanna use and have no classes!!!
Sure seems fine to me and most I guess /s
Edit: bet this gets falsely flagged and removed lmfao
