Please confirm if TBC server will be ERA TBC

so about that confirmation blizzard?

Interestingly, with the black lotus change we know they are reading the forums. They are choosing not to answer this. Which in itself might be one.

Blizzard is probably refraining from addressing the matter of a TBC era server until they have the data they need to see if it would be sufficiently populated enough to even bother with. Not necessarily defending the silence on the matter, just throwing out a possibility as to why they’ve been silent thus far.

Read the forums? More likely someone sent Aggrend a cake asking for something to be done.

Anyway, why announce TBC Era (or lack thereof) when they can string players along for another year? If they were to say no Era…maybe players would quit. The fact they haven’t announced it is perhaps evidence there won’t be a TBC Era.

But obviously there will be an Era. It’s just a question of when. They’re not going to run progression servers alongside the other progression servers. So where will they stop? My guess is Wrath.

And now the part that will upset people: Wrath Era would be more successful than TBC Era.

Had considered this as well. If they came out right now and stated that TBC era would not be happening regardless of any circumstances, it’s easy to imagine that a large swath of people would unsubscribe. As much as I love TBC, and I love WotLK even more, if they gave me every reason to believe that it was just going to progress from one to the next like classic did without an option to stay on one, the other or both, I’d either set up shop on an era realm or hang my hat up altogether.

My assumption from the original wording launching anniversary realms was that they would end up as TBC era servers as advancing to TBC was the only thing mentioned.

If it is to be a TBC era I’d prefer it had an extended time line so we could do all content without having to rush. Im levelling a number of alts on anniversary for TBC - and not doing any vanilla end game (having done it twice). Id prefer to play a healer, dps and tank on three different toons during TBC - but can only do that if we are not rushing through phases in order to get to WoTLK.

For people who want WotLK era or MoP Id prefer that not be on progression servers. Instead, new servers are launched as MoP era and WoTLK era and everyone starts from level 1 with no gold but can level to max for MoP and WoTLK immediately from launch. I think if you are going to make a commitment to spend days/weeks levelling you want to know the destination.

I know numbers of people who want to play MoP but dont want to level on the cataclysm servers as they will be so far behind on gold, professions and alts. Sure the cata servers should progress to MoP - but an additional MoP era server later for the many people who only want MoP would be a drawcard for many.

If you don’t mind my asking, which anniversary server (PvE or PvP) are you playing on and are you playing Alliance or Horde?

PvE alliance.

Awesome. Same. If you haven’t already joined a guild that you feel suits your needs, what are you looking for in terms of raid days/times, not sure how to phrase it but a guild that is casual, semi-hardcore, surface of the sun sweaty?

I ask because I’ve got a similar mindset in terms of not wanting to be rushed to TBC unless it was announced well in advance that there would be WotLK era servers. If not, I look to spend my days in TBC (and hopefully an TBC era server) maxing out one of each class, collecting all dungeon/tier sets, mounts, blah blah blah… Interested in finding others who have, if not identical goals, have goals that are similar.

I agree. I think we absolutely should still make a stink here on the forums/X/Bluesky or wherever they look. But they’re likely going to see how many concurrent players are online for TBC before considering a long-term, active upkeep.

I don’t blame them for such a view, but the company seems to be both allergic to addressing player’s concerns in a communicative manner. So, we’ll have to wait and see.

Honestly, I would be perfectly happy if they addressed it and simply stated that they are waiting to see. A maybe, while not as preferable as a hard yes or no, is much better than complete silence. An acknowledgement that they have heard us and are at the absolute very least, open to the idea should all the pieces fall into place.

I agree, but Blizz makes plenty of weird decisions.

Maybe they’ll see the profit potential in opening up a paid cloning service for each expansion. But that’s a one time thing. For servers they’ll potentially have to maintain and support forever, it might not be worth it to the bean counters.

TBC Classic and Wrath Forever UNCHANGED Era servers bump. I had posted this on another forum post so I will post it here.

This is what needs to happen: Have our existing forever Era Vanilla servers unchanged and the servers consisting of 1 of each PvP, PvE, RPPVP, and RPPVE.

Have a forever unchanged TBC Classic Era servers unchanged and the servers consisting of 1 of each PvP, PvE, RPPVP, and RPPVE.

Have a forever unchanged WOTLK Classic Era servers unchanged and the servers consisting of 1 of each PvP, PvE, RPPVP, and RPPVE.

After the final version “wrath” has gone through it’s timespan start a new fresh server starting in Vanilla that lasts 1-1/2 years that progresses through to TBC that lasts 1-1/2 years and finally Wrath that also lasts 1-1/2 years all of which being in an UNCHANGED state and being able to copy your character to the corresponding Era server that already exists on Era once that fresh server that is currently going through the 3 trilogies again ends.

They do this and they will have a forever playerbase.
