I’ve read the blue posts and the locked threads. I understand Blizzard intended this promotion to only work for players who purchase a subscription with real money. However, Blizzard is SERIOUSLY making a mistake with this one. They are losing a 6-month commitment from players like myself who have a balance that is just sitting there collecting dust. I’m NOT going to buy this mount separately for $25, but getting it as a supplemental gift for purchasing another half year of game time with my balance sounded like a great idea. Now that I realize the promotion can’t be purchased with my balance, I may just have to put this on the “Decisions Blizzard made that were not in the best interests of its players” pile.
And another thing: What if my Blizzard balance was generated with real money? Who is to say that I haven’t added $10 here or $20 there in order to get that silly pet or those collectible helms? Now they’re telling me that my money is no longer valid to purchase a subscription and only players who sign up with a credit card are eligible? That sounds a little like passive-aggressive extortion to me.
Heres the thing your posting in the wrong forum the ones that makes those decisions dont come here either post in general or use the ingame suggestion feature.
Yes. You can buy the mount and 6 months of game time with $115 of Blizzard balance instead of the promotional price of $77.94 if you use a credit card. Sounds fair.
This both is enraging and sickens me. My sub was due to run out mid afternoon today and after the bugs and letdown of 8.2, was gonna let my sub go till Classic. Then this promo hits and I figure I’ll buy some tokens, convert to wowbucks and buy the 6month since 4 of that will be in classic. After spending 780k gold, I click the promo and find out AFTER that I cannot use blizzbucks to buy it. I would have much rather waited 2 months and had 6 full into classic. Now I’m out gold and blizz is up 120USD…GG scam company. I’ll never recommend a blizz product again.
Do you not understand the concept “subscription”? As opposed to a block of game time? Or? You just could have bought the mount for $25.00
This is on you.
Why is this such a hard concept for some people?
You get it as a perk for a 6 month recurring subscription ( which you can cancel once the payment clears. You have always been able to. That what we did before game time) for less than $80USD, OR you can purchase it from the store for $25USD.
Guess you should have read the promo before moving forward blindly. None of this was ambiguous or secret. Your failure to do due diligence does not constitute a scam on Blizzard’s part.
Not sure why I’m bothering defending myself, but after I was made aware of the inability to use blizzbucks, I did look over the promo page that you are taken to from the link in the launcher and guess what. Nowhere on that page does it say we can not use that currency. Hmmm
You don’t get the misunderstanding, BUT THATS OK, I HAVE CAPS TOO. Not gonna bother explaining it either, especially not to a tauren. I have resolved the issue to the best I can with CS, and going forward, will never convert tokens to currency again.
We all get the misunderstanding. It is that you didn’t understand what subscription meant. You want to come on and badmouth Blizzard and make it seem like they committed fraud or were trying to do something underhanded, nothing like that was going on. It comes down to reading and understanding what words mean.
“Do you not understand the concept “subscription”? As opposed to a block of game time? Or? You just could have bought the mount for $25.00”
I’ve been paying for my subscription using Blizzard Balance Cards. They’re getting real cash for my game time subscription. Still can’t use my real cash Blizzard balance. This only works if you pay for a subscription using a credit card. Been a subscriber since 2007, most of those years on Blizzard balance–I very, very rarely give out my credit card information. This “promotion” sucks, and those like me paying via that method are getting ripped off for continuing our subscription. I bought my 1-year subscription last year with Blizzard balance and got the mount then with that promotion, and based on Blizzard’s past promotions, thought I could do the same again this year and pay for my subscription with Blizzard balance. I’m spending $115 now instead of $78, and the subscription will still be the same as if I had used a credit card. I’m a subscriber, and have been for years…but this…this causes me to re-think things. There are plenty of places that would appreciate my business more than Blizzard.
