I guess I can understand the original rationale behind making new ranks of abilities into books that drop in dungeons. It gave an incentive to people to run old content and many newer players were still starting out in phase 6 so UBRS runs were common. However classic isn’t vanilla.
People rarely run UBRS. I’ve tried starting my own group and reserving the book, nobody wants to run UBRS except for BWL attune. I’ve joined rare pugs and stated I needed the book and asked if that was ok and they assured me that yes it was. Then the book dropped and everyone rolled need on it even if they weren’t rogues. The person that won it offered to sell it to me for 4000 gold (I currently have 527 gold). The book is selling on the auction house for between 3000-5000g which is just ludicrous. I can’t see how I can actually get the new rank of this ability.
There is little reason to have this new rank of Eviserate be only obtainable by a book that only drops in one dungeon. It just opens the door to greed and price gouging. Please make it a new rank that can be learned at the trainer.
Good news! You don’t use eviscerate in raiding, so you don’t actually need this new rank! Consider it a cosmetic or purely PvP upgrade for later on, and you’ll not have to worry about it much.
I’m a hemo spec dwarf rogue on a pvp server. The only raids I ever do is zg/aq20 occasionally since I’m a fresh 60. Aside from that I do pvp or gank horde so it is an ability I would use a lot.
PvP upgrade for later on
Classic is over. There is no “later on”. Naxx is cleared there will be no new content for classic.
books came down cause they where from DM Tribute runs or from AQ20 … both of which are over farmed on most servers.
Evis book will stay 1k or above for a while. Very few people do full clears of UBRS these days … and the groups that do will prob have the books reserved.
What server you on? My server is arguably one of the lowest pop for alliance side and we run ubrs occasionally, in fact we got 2 evis books the other day.
If nothing else selling the book is then the motivation to run the instance. You can 5 man it. People still want ace, flask. If the book is expensive people will run it until it is not.
counting listed prices that never sell including the very inflated first sales are we? I sold the first greater firepower potion recipe for 2k, the next one sold for 300 and it kept tumbling.
atm on bigglesworth there are a dozen books that are up there for 150g but if you check often you’ll find it for 50g, which even if it WAS at 350g like you claimed that is still a FRACTION of the evis book.
EDIT: Actually just checked, they’re all 57g on the AH now, try again.
