PLEASE - Change how the Auction House decides whose items sell first

… in the sense that whoever posted most recently has their items sell first. THIS is what’s causing all of the cancelled auctions and re-posting.

Make it random or implement an algorithm that can intelligently decide whos should be sold first (Maybe oldest? Not sure TBH)

Just please, for the love of god do something because I am so tired of having to cancel auctions and relist them at the same price. This is the new “undercut” and it’s driving me CWAZY!

People are quite literally able to control the Auction House either through legitimate or illegitimate (Botting) means by always being the ones who have the most recent auctions posted. Therefore, making it so what you’re trying to sell will never sell.

Thank you.

I really don’t get why they don’t cycle through all the sellers at a certain price point. Start at newest so there’s less temptation to undercut, then just divide up the order across all sellers, 5 people selling something and someone buys 10 of them, everyone sells 2.

Enjoy your re-posting any change Blizzard makes won’t change the fact that you will have to keep re-posting.

Making it so the most recent person who posted the item has theirs be sold first is an insanely stupid idea and leads to way more re-posting than there was before.

Maybe, but they will just undercut you by a silver with any other system. I have found my re-posting to be the same as usual.

Of course, there just has to be a better way of the Auction House deciding whos items sell. The cycle idea Tarrok suggested is a good starting point I think.

Obviously, there will always be re-posting and undercutting but this is just crazy (At least on my server).

I agree with that some servers are more crazy than others.

Or just let the undercut sell first and yours will sell after. You don’t always have to be the cheapest price you know.

The only way I can see this being semi-successful is to limit restrict how long cancelled auctions take.

Can they undercut you still? Sure. But unless they have some massive stock it’s going to take a while.

Unfortunately this might just open the door for real goblins (people with 200 flasks in stock) to dominate harder than currently.

Not really sure how you can fix this without making the situation worse or at best just an alternative of what is already happening.

One thing they should do is purchase orders. Or as a community we can actually leverage “lowest bid”.

Remember when bidding was a thing? Pepperidge farm remembers.

Maybe add a 1 hour or 30 minute auction option so people become more inclined to use lowest bid when posting/buying?

It’s not price undercutting, if you post let’s say a 20 stack of an item. I can sit at the Auction House and keep posting 1 or 5 of that item at the same price you did, re-posting every time they sell so that yours never see the light of day all while never having to undercut in price.

Easy way to fix that is to simply not show any posting thats less than a 10% undercut until the previous one expires or sells.

Purchase orders sounds amazing, I believe GW2 has a system like that and it’s a godsend.

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying allow players to create requests for items and set their price / quantity and allow sellers to fill (or not fill) said orders if they so choose right?

Yeah, I don’t think they will implement that.

Probably not but just because Blizzard is too lazy to do it doesn’t mean the solution doesn’t exist. Your statement was undercutting and reposting can’t go away no matter what they do.

Well even with your idea I can undercut by 10.5% and it will be seen immediately.

Tl;dr: The LIFO system sucks and it’s annoying to deal with.

I agree.

That’s fine, brings down prices. If you’re willing to undercut by a significant amount then yours SHOULD sell first. The 1 silver nonsense is what i’m trying to stop. THAT is what causes the flood.

What do you think about the Purchase Order idea Yonbi brought up? I think that is actually a really great idea. GW2 has it and it’s really amazing.

Not sure, I have been in some real undercutting wars.

I do like that idea and it could be helpful for sure.
