It’s so fun and has such an awesome theme/class fantasy!
But it’s literally 30% less damage in both single target and Cleave than Slayer is. These numbers are insanely unbalanced. Please buff it, thank you.

I’m playing thane on my fury and it seems pretty good, is it really that much worse than slayer fury?
It’s like 100-150k less single target damage. Which is like 30%.
Outside of big cds I am doing about 450-500k dps single target at my item level of ~560, over 1m with cd’s on. The damage difference gets larger the more cd’s I use.
But holy hell its so much cooler and way more fun to play, but i’m not going to troll by playing such a vastly sub par spec.

They need to straight up DOUBLE the damage of Thunder Blast and the proc rate of Lightning Strikes.
That would be a good start.

Ya that’s a bummer, I thought I was going to roll slayer at first but got hooked on thane when I gave it a chance. Hopefully they buff it sooner than later.
Yeah I tried it on my warrior and it’s way cooler aesthetically but vastly inferior for PvP. Hate to see it.
Buff please. Imo buff the proc/damage of the lightning so we get the cool aesthetics more often

I wouldn’t say the need to straight up double the damage Thunder Blast does (because honestly then ToTM would be broken in AoE Fights) But a few Minor changes I’d make are:
Rampage and Bloodthirst damage Hero Talent 15% → 20%
Bloodthirst Base damage: +15%
Lightning Strike: Proc 25% Base —> 35% Base
Thunderclap/Whirlwind: Damage Reduction target from 5 → 8
Flashing Skies: Calls down Lightning strike on A enemy hit by your thunderblast → Calls down up a Lightning Strike on up to 3 enemies struck by your Thunder Blast.
While I don’t believe we would see all these changes, these are just some minor changes I’d probably say would help it overall closing the gap between us and slayer.

Moutain thane fury is reallllly fun in bgs. While slayer is better in arenas and does better single target in pvp mountain thanea aoe is incredibly fun in large fights.
Thank god i mainly do do bgs
Most fun I’ve had playing Prot since WoD/Legion.

Really? I can’t stand prot, it feels awful to play. Last time I enjoyed it was BFA. The changes they’ve made since then just are tragically unfun

Yea I mean getting back MoP second wind and Wotlk magic reduction built into D stance ontop of how the amazing synergy it has with Mountain thane. It’s in an amazing spot.
You are doing huge damage and constantly calling down lightning bolts with your attacks. Which have a chance to grant Avatar which causes more lightning. Thunderblast is super fun button to push.
Then we have great leech and 110% healing from deep wounds, 2 shield walls, cheat death with battle scarred that now pairs up perfectly with Second wind. Big sudden death executes for single target that also procs lightning blasts. Shield charge for huge damage and more burst for more procs.
You get procs that cause procs so you feel like an Unstoppable Raid boss. It’s addicting. So it’s not like you are just waiting for CDs, it just feels good to play.
It’s a juggernaut in WPvP and been really having fun in BGs. Love some Prot PvP.
Speaking of Prots in BG’s, do you know if Ravager spins nodes?
That’s an ability I never take, it’s changed a few times. It’s possible.
I’ll have to test it, then. With the fact that you can get 2 charges and Mortal Wounds on it now, I might consider it for the utility. Sadly it’s affected by haste, which shortens its duration.
Whatever is the coolest of the two hero talenrs should always be better mountain thane theme is better so it should be buffed
Honestly, if they at least increased the % rate or made more guaranteed ways of getting TB and Lightning strikes. It BAFFLES me that we don’t get Avatar of the Storm when we proc Avatar with alternative ways like when we use Odyn’s. Also imo Thunderclap and Thunder Blast shouldn’t share cds, It doesn’t make sense to me, to lose such a good AoE burst just because.

I switched to Slayer… I found Mountain Thane to be non-thematic, very Shamanesque. Maybe when I’m prot, but Fury should be whirlwinds of blades.
