I am a big fan of elune’s favored, but not with how it currently performs in it’s talent section. Elune’s favored is that talent where you can’t take it when you want to, since there’s not enough points in the bottom section, but have to take it when you don’t want to.
If you play the standard (going from left to right), circle of life & death - blood frenzy - incarn - incarn cdr - thorns of iron - rage of the sleeper - scintillating moonlight - galactic guardian - twin moons, you can’t take elune’s favored.
your options include dropping twin moons, rots, thorns of iron, incarn CDR, or blood frenzy. which none are worth dropping due to the synergy, damage, and defensiveness they all provide with each other. dropping twin moons for elune’s favored kind of defeats the purpose of the dmg DR from scintillating moonlight & the healing component from elune’s favored itself would be way lower.
If you decide to not play the bottom right side lazer build and instead go down to UFR/raze, you’ll end up taking elune’s favored for thorns of iron+RotS which then elune’s favored is no longer as valuable and feels pretty bad to take.
If you decide to play a no-incarn build then you can take elune’s favored with the full lazer build. unfortunately this build does way less damage & provides much less survivability than the incarn builds so it’s not great.
In the current tree, i’d like to see this talent buffed to 30% arcane dmg (is currently 10%) and have the 30% healing from arcane damage remain the same. This won’t change much, thorns of iron will still be much better than elune’s favored. I just want to play arcane bear as I played it in 10.0.2 before thorns of iron came out without losing so much for it, but still losing out on dmg since thorns is super strong. arcane bear as in healing from the arcane dmg done.
