its disrespectful. i get bantering with the enemy is a thing that people do but my brain always thinks about what it would take to do something like that outside the game.
even tho its a videogame and none of it is real, its the thought that makes it icky. its like:
âhere is your character you spent your whole life working on, the virtualized representstion of you but in azeroth. now lets desecrate it by committing body fluid assault and make you feel worthlessâ
itâs doubly worse in the role play community. never once really cared for the emote, with or without a streamer pusning some keyboard warrior campaign
im against public spitting as much as the next personâŚbut your reading WAYYY TOO MUCH into a simple in game emote.
Itâs also ironic coming from the OP. I can almost guarantee you that if the shoe was on the other foot, and someone used the /spit emote on them, they would lose their mind. They can dish it out the disrespect, but they canât take it.
i think youâre reading too much in my response to the thread. it was an emote that was part of the game that i thought was mindly offputting for the reasons i have described.
based on the way i choose to play the game, thats not how i jive, you know?
your response reads like someone just physically assaulted you personally.
im sorry you feel that way?
If someone wants the emote back, I highly doubt theyâre getting offended by the emote. People getting offended by an emote in-game are just weird and overly sensitive.
lol uhm what? i dont feel anything. but keep backpedaling. instead of you know an actual response.
Not everyone. I can assure you.
If youâre going to make assumptions about people who dislike the emote, you could easily make some about someone who desperately needs to spit on people in a video game.
the person in question really thought he was capable of bullying multi billionaire suits into making the game he wanted byâŚ
using his fanbase to annoy and harass random people just minding their own business. he cannot be taken seriously because he is not a serious person.
anyone who defends that kind of behavior at this point in time are even less so.
You can come up with whatever bogus conclusion you want⌠the emote hurts no one and the removal was done to sate overly sensitive people.
i agree bring back /spit to water the draenei with.
IF the emote had no reason to exist, then why did it? Could it be that games are meant to be entertainment, and like comedy used vulgar humor to make a point? Iâve seen people do far more than spit, and people just eat it uppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Perhaps instead of catering to people whom are easily offended, we should cater to the crowd who can handle such humor. Afterall, what is good for the goose is good for the gander (In essence, if you get to tell me how to play, i get to tell you how to play as well!)
Since you have no proof to back that up, someone could easily claim your conclusion is bogus as well.
Thereâs plenty of things that blizzard could include in the game that wouldnât âhurtâ anyone but donât for a variety of reasons.
Sorry that you arenât able to spit on anyone in game. Since the OP is making blatantly false claims like âspeaking for everybodyâ itâs clear that they are desperate for it. And thatâs weird.
What proof do I need?
If youâre offended by an emote in a game, you have some serious personal issues and thatâs not my problem. You being soft is on you, itâs WEIRD to be offended by something that happened in a game.
But for a person to be offended or hurt by words, the person would have to enable another person to have the power to offend them. So, in other words, people shouldnât take to heart what others say on the internet. Joey from princess diaries said it well imo
Weird to see you advocate for forms of censorship instead of emotional regulation. People say far worse in trade chat, and that goes by largely unregulated.
And itâs weird to be so desperate to spit on people in a game that you make of obviously false claims and start forum posts about it.
Deny it all you want, but that is weird.
Iâm not advocating for anything. Iâm just saying that I find it weird that some people need to be able to spit on others in a video game. What value does it bring?
