DRIVE has been insanely fun, I’m not sure how it ended up being the WoW devs/engineers that have made driving feel this smooth out of any of the mmorpgs out there, honestly out of most driving games out there too lol but here we are. It feels fluid and really good once you get used to the controls. I absolutely love it, insanely good job making drifting feel good.
It’d be so sweet to get this in all zones as a choice of mounting/traveling. Ways to customize the car visually would be awesome too eventually, but the biggest thing is having this in all zones. I can already see people setting up races across The Barrens or in zones with good routes, Azure span is another I can think of but theres many.

So long as it’s optional and they don’t gate normal ground mounts behind pathfinder or some nonsense like that.

At the very least give us some old world drive events like the old world dragon races.
Also make those way more frequent.
Needs more time in the oven before considering the possibility of being used outside of Undermine.

Huh? We already have normal mounting in all zones. I’m talking about zones in past expansions, like open up drive for all zones that we already have.
I can’t say what they should do for future zones, I’d like the option to have drive+regular flying/skyriding though. I dont think pathfinder is bad at all when it basically just asks you to explore the zones, DF and TWW pathfinder were good, WoD pathfinder was terrible just or some examples. You basically can complete it day 1 of launch when its like that.

Drive will never be used in any zone where flying is available.
Only reason it’s popular in undermine is because it’s forced

Why does that matter? I’m saying there could be community events with racing if they bring Drive to old zones/allow it outside of Undermine. It doesn’t have to be forced for people to have fun with it.
honestly i would enjoy some sort of mechanic for it its quite fun

the idea of races is actually kind of cool…honestly I don’t see any reason why they won’t bring it to the rest of the world, with the caveat that they aren’t going to tune older to content to make it "drive"able
when blizzard introduced dragon riding, then we had steady flight locked behind pathfinder.
yes, we used to have steady flight everywhere but the introduction of dragon riding made blizzard time-gate our preferred method of travel so that they could force people to use their new one.
yeah let’s not travel down this road.
let’s just be safe and keep DRIVE inside undermine only and forever.

I very much agree on making them more frequent. Just for a comparison. The last Cup was the Northrend Cup… back in May of 2024. The Kalimdor Cup is the first one to occur since the ending of the Northrend tournament. Why? Why an nine/close to ten month wait?

Oh they could do events or whatever sure, but outside of collecting rewards nobody will ever use it.
Ground mounts are just inferior to flying, even if the ground mount is very fast
I know that, I’m not interested in whether people use it or not if flying is available. I’m interested in community based races that have community based rewards for fun, and that’s what this would allow. Not everything needs to be used by everyone, I don’t think expecting everyone to use drive is necessary if it’s brought to old zones.
