Please bring back tier sets

I doubt this will get much traction but I loved farming tier sets on all of my alts. It makes the game so much more meaningful of having that unique design compared to the sets we’re getting with BFA. Please bring this back as it helps players go back to complete older content that they might’ve not seen.

Just my 2 cents but other than that I’m enjoying BFA. Happy New Years everyone!

The removal of tier was an awful decision. Sure, emerald nightmare also didn’t have tier, but I dont think blizz plans on bringing it back for this expansion.

People always act like Tier sets are some staple to this game.

What about those of us who don’t raid? Call me crazy, but I prefer Azerite gear.

Why?

Because unlike raid gear, I actually get to participate in it.

That’s kind of the point. If you dont raid, you dont get access to the power increase that is a tier bonus. Power progression is important.

I miss tier sets too. At least you had a reason to play more. Even it was on a alt for the looks in lfr .

Tier sets had inherent problems; first and foremost being the disparity between different classes’ set bonuses. For some, the bonuses were absolutely essential; for others they were lackluster at best (looking at you, Nightwell ProtWar 4-piece).

Then you had the issue of having a set bonus that was so good, you couldn’t afford to break it, leading to wearing last tiers set well into the following tier (looking at you, ToS ProtWar 4-piece).

What I’d like to see instead is get stats back on our head, shoulder, and chest pieces, and have obtaining the different pieces instead unlock azerite traits on the neck. Make changing those traits as situations require the same as changing talents (locking those changes in m+, arguably) and bring some flexibility to the classes.

I don’t care about the tier set bonuses, but different sets for different classes is what really interests me.

I just miss each class having it’s own unique set in terms of art. Each raid only having 1 set per armor style is really boring.

In legion every set design was obtainable by every class in each armor type. Sure, it was recolored but you could still get it.

So, other than class halls there were no unique sets

I mean, each class had their own set deigned around their class.

having 1 look per armor type, like BfA does, is super lame.

Good riddance to tier sets and developer dictated builds.

Despite the many other things that are wrong about Azerite gear, the one huge thing they got right was giving players the option to discover their own builds.

And the fact that this gear is open to mythic+ and rated pvp (not my thing but clearly many others) gives extra freedom to players that enjoy those aspects of the game.

Good riddance to tiers.

The other expansion where they tried a prototype version of this new armor style was WoD with the downgraded, generic LFR sets. And then they realized that it killed most motivation for the casual players to run their raids so they changed it back in Legion… weird how they seem to have forgotten that lesson. There is somebody high up at blizzard who doesn’t understand the appeal of cosmetic rewards.

I get what you are saying, but we dont know how many sets BfA has planned.

In legion, each class had roughly 6 official sets for the entire x-pac (not counting recolors).

So far BFA has given us 4 unique sets. So we may end up with more than legion in the long run.

Bring back the tier gear.

Azerite armor is frustrating.

Sadly Activision blizzard takes the path of least resistance. I doubt tier is coming back they will likely just trash bin azerite after trying to fix it 3 more times with slightly changed systems no one will want.

I don’t think we’re talking about the same thing. I’m talking about each class having it’s own raid tier gear styled after them, like it’s always been, before BfA.

In Legion each class had 3 raid sets designed around their class (Nighthold, Tomb, Antorus).
And 1 raid set that was the same look for each class of the same armor type (ToV).

In BfA, all we have is 2 raid sets. Uldir, and Battle of Dazar’alor coming soon. Which is the same look for each class of the same armor type.

I miss raid tiers giving each class their own style of gear.

I don’t really care about tier set bonuses, but I miss having class-specific gear sets because so far the gear has been pretty craptastic-looking in BFA.

“I don’t like it because I can’t get it.”

Yeah good riddance to bonuses to things you should have… already… used… And mixing different tier sets for more customization…

Ok serious question who here that’s against tier sets actually played Pre-MoP?

We’ve only had them for 14 years

You get to participate if you do choose to raid, which clearly you didn’t.

I have three mandatory Azerite traits on both my main two healers for Mythic Uldir, one being Archive(Hpally/MW). There are no options.
