Jewel of the Firelord, Hood of Hungering Darkness, and Crown of Eternal Winter were some of the coolest transmog helmets I’ve seen. They used to be purchasable on the WoW Shop.
Why were they ever removed?

Hmm I’m down for them not removing stuff anymore and bringing back what they took out, but they still need to (re)fix the shop items disappearing.
I was unaware of this. I guess I was MIA or taking my routine WoW break at this time. Sad
Because they weren’t popular.
I wish these were still available to buy for those who didn’t get them or started after their removal. They were not a limited time promotion at their release, so it didn’t make sense to me that they were removed.
But, then again they were available for almost 5½ years, so this should be a good example of how they can remove anything they want at any time from the store/game: if there’s something you are aware of and want during the time you are subscribed to the game, you best get it in case it disappears into the ether . I don’t see any reason that these should have disappeared off of the store, but .
That said, I have a tangentially-related question that maybe someone knows the answer to: since I think these were redeemed via a redemption code—at least the original early purchases of them were—does that mean that, if someone didn’t actually redeem the codes, they could be redeemed by anyone to which they would give the codes? I bought and redeemed mine the week they were first available, but it was just something the thread here made me wonder.
Yeah, it’s really annoying with these helms when some of us have had said transmogs for almost a decade…
FOMO strikes again. As always, it’s a terrible policy, and anyone that defends FOMO is seriously lacking in gray matter.
Then you shouldn’t be buying anything from a company does limited time things
Fast foods do limited time things (Wendy’s Strawberry Frosty, Arby’s steakhouse burger, Chick-fil-As peach shake, etc etc)
Food companies Companies like Kraft, Nabisco, etc etc do limited time things like limited edition pumpkin spice/peppermint during the holidays
Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo do limited time things like limited edition consoles, limited edition games
Nintendo made Super Mario All Stars and they discontinued the game
Microsoft made a limited edition halo theme console
Blizzard is doing limited edition collectors edition since 2004 yet here you are still paying that sub
If you’re a serious anti FOMO person, why are you on the forums giving Blizzard a WoW token/$15 when they already do these things since the beginning
If you really are against limited edition things I don’t see you boycotting said companies above
